Hello everyone ! So for the love of weed. I decided to grow Auto Amnesia indoor. I am using 100% perlite. My seed has germinated today thankfully and i can see tiny leaves coming out on the 4th day after plantation. I just watered and flushed the pot quite well before planting the seed, leaving the perlite just moist enough to help the plant germinate along with a circular homemade chart paper sphere to control humidity and temperature with lights on 20 hr and 4 hr of dark period. So far so good. NOW MY QUESTION is how often do i water my plant after the leaves have popped out ? Ive read many thread in this forum and i am glad many members have posted some awesome information which helps new growers like me but i didnot find much information about when to water and how much. Till germination i used minimum water. So shall i water my pot once every two or three days and gradually increase the water quantity as the size of the plant increases. Correct me if im wrong and please need your advice regarding how and when to WATER. I will post the pictures f my plant, ive started documenting its growth.. Feedbacks will be appreciated. Thanks :)

Hey ! I think its hydro, not sure. Dont know much about it.. Still reading, almost a newbie. But just to precise its a 2.5 gallon normal container with 2 holes drilled in at the bottom of the pot and all filled with 100% perlite.. Would this make it a HYDRO ? Because there is no water resorvoir at the base, as mostly water gets drained in a few hours, whiilst the perlite holds some needed moisture but still the upper part of the plant where leaves are is MOIST and the bottom part of the pot is mostly damp, if not wet..Hope this helps and please go easy on me as im still learning.. Hehe..

If you have it on a pump then feed for 15 min. 4 times in light 1 time in dark.

Sounds like just potted perlite. You may have water retention problems as she gets older and starts REALLY sucking moisture. Do you have the little pot "saucer" (pan) under it to hold excess water? I would assume so. If not, get one that matches the pot size, they're cheap. Deeper is better than shallow.

The excess water will catch in the tray/pan and the perlite will wick it up as needed until the roots are well established. Water when the pan is dry. From what I've seen pure perlite grows are used in hydro either using a constant drip, recirculating, or ebb and flow (flood and drain type) systems (these are all hydro). I haven't seen pure perlite in single pot as the only media. To use it as "stand alone" will be problematic. NOT to say it can't be done, you're just going to have to figure out what works to keep her properly watered and not burn her with nutes. There may be someone here who has done it already and can expand on this.

Well thank u for the suggestion TxOld Dude. I do have a large tray beneath the pot but i doubt it would work as a wick for my pot as the base of the pot is a bit higher and not touching the tray. However i get your point about the possible water retention problems at later stage. So what i am going to do is use the link above shared by willie for hempy bucket as blue prints and entirely transport my plant to a new container with a reservoir and drainage hole at the side instead of the bottom. Right now my Auto Amnesia has just sprouted with one developed leaf and one still curved and developing.. So i will wait a week till the plant has developed some significant roots, and than shift it to a new and modified container as described for Hempy Buckets. Im sure it will work just like shifting from a party cup right into the pot after germination. I dont have the party cup installed currently though. But my concern is if i be careful in removing from the current pot after a week more and shift to another 5 g pot. I hope i will not disturb the plant roots or anything that way. I love this forum and i am so glad that many people are willing to help. Cheers all !
