in place of phing ice water... use 20 oz bottles or something... freeze em... and trade em in and out of your res to maintin temp..... any way to kill that heater? not sure where you are but where i am at 42 north... its all i can do to hold temps down in the summer with just lights ... a radiator in my GR would do my shit in in about 6 hours...




sounds like ph swings and maybe a lil root temp shock as well...

Yeah I turned my radiator off yesterday morn & forgot to turn it on again, went to work came home after 5 & my tent temp was at dowm to 61f, I have my tent in my garage which is detached from house & has no heating in it + LED lights generate little heat so the radiator is a must

Roughly how much would a 1/2 tspn of Epsom salts knock your EC by??.... Anyone?

I don't know about that but if you foliar spray it won't change one tiny bit

yeah you can foliar that as well... but in your res it shouldnt change it too bad.... drop it in and see... then you have refernce for how much your changing it with that...

a foliar feed will get it to them quickest...

Growth has more or less stopped now on both plants... Or so it seems!!

Roots are still growing ok!

I'm using formulex (which is a baby plant food) at the mo... & rhizotonic root stim, that's it!! Ph is set at 5.8 but rises up to 6.2-6.3 after a res change until the res has warmed up some, so then it needs reset again to 5.8 with ph down. Like I say I have sensical grow & bloom for cal/mag def, but I'm not sure if I should be using it yet until I get to grips with growing & hydro.

Where would I get Epsom salts? Chemist?? Or for USA readers the drug store? Or just any supermarket??

mix up a fresh res and add

60ml of rhizotonic
6ml of sensi cal grow
add formulex untill yout get an ec of 1.0
ph res to 5.7

let it stablize, keep the res @ 5.7-5.8 dont let it swing any higher

in the 1st 2 weeks of the grow you should be able to set it and forget it, i never have my ph raise or drop untill the plants have enough roots in the res to actually make an impact on any movements which is normally around week 3-4

dont worry about the leaves at the minute, if you check my td diary you will see i had the same problem but they still went onto perform, tell your plants that your sorry for being a noob and you will have them back to health as quickly as possible lol

just for the record the rockwool cubes should be soaked in ph 5.8 soloution

i always use 6ml of sensi cal/mag in every res change

after 7 days change them over to you proper nutrients, drop the rhizo to 30ml add the 6ml of cal/mag use your nutrients to make an ec of 1.1
