Hello all, I have been following this site for a month and finally joined. This is my 3rd grow, 1st autoflower. I am growing 6 automazars and 6 purple cheese from auto seeds. All growing in pro mix hp, general hydro flora series in 5 gal. pots under 2 1000 watt lights, air cooled and 16 inches from the girls. Room temps avg 78, rh 40ish. Some of my fan leaves are curling upwards around the edges. Im not a good troubleshooter so any help would be appreciated. Autoflower.net rocks!

i think your light is to close man, i would move it to 18" or mabey 24" im a noob but ive seem that before myself with my cfl grows....someone with more xp then me will be along soon to help you .....they always do...:peace:.....and welcome to the network man this is a great place to get help:bong: + Nice plants man all the best with the grow, did you start a thread so i can watch you blow them girls up:wiz:

2 1000 watt lights, air cooled and 16 inches from the girls.

That is some serious fire power. You are going to have to raise that up because you are drying out your leaves.

I am intrigued. Your lights suggest someone growing in a large space, an experienced grower perhaps. But you don't recognise your problem. Thus my question is are you a novice with the wrong lights? That amount of lighting is way too much for the average home grower.

You guys are right, raise the lights to around 24 to 30 inches from plants.

Thanks thud, I'm not experienced at all. I only have 2 grows under my belt. This is my 3rd, first autoflower. I thought I had some experience but man this is a ongoing learning process I see. Im working with a spare bedroom(10x12 I believe). My 1st two times I used photo seeds which grew bigger so i needed the space and lighting. Most forums i read said the more light the better as long as u keep temps down and your hand is not uncomfortable under the light. When I get home later I will raise another 6 inches. I must say I was suprised I got responses. So far this is a awesome site. I cant wait till I get some experience so I can help those who need it. Soon as I get time(this evening) I'll be starting a thread on my grow. Thanks auto fam!

I would agree with them all. With that much wattage friend, you will have to keep it at least 2 feet above... Everything a plant does is for a reason. It's easy to read your plants once you know what they are telling you. Leaf curl TYPICALLY means the plant is too hot. Too close to the lights mainly. Raise it up like Namvet said at least "24 - 32"... If that doesnt't work raise em higher... If your plants are green and show no deficiencies (spots, yellowing, burning, etc) then it's probably the heat. That is some serious wattage! I used a 400W HPS and my plants would curl if it was closer than 18". Hope this helps you my friend.

Thanks all. Now i have another prob i need help with. First some more info...on day 17. So far been only using absopure spring water. I used 1/4 tsp gen hydro bio grow 1st time day 12. I went to water today and a few leaves have browning patches. My exp. is leading me to say cal/mag def but could that be possible only 17 days into grow? This is my first autoflower and i see things do move alot faster. Im growing in promix hp by the way. I have the gen hydro line. If it is cal/mag shld i use some micro or some cal/mag? I guess first what do u good people think it is? And how can i fix plz? Hopefully one day I'll be able to help someone. Thx yall!

Nobody can tell you what it is without a photo. I very much doubt that small plants in 5 gallon pots means an actual deficiency. You could be locking it out through PH though..

Opps! I guess a couple pics would help. Here they are. And by the way, I have a rapid test brand probe style ph tester. No matter which plant I test it starts high and always stop at 7.0. Last watering I added 1 teaspoon of ph down/gallon still didnt drop any...bad tester? Not enough ph down? Help guys! Also I have seen the meter go lower when testing water before I use it. Went in at 6.4-6.6.

A few drops should move the ph..........I wouldn't put much faith in that ph tester. I use hydroponic essentials ph drops because I can't afford a real tester and an inaccurate tester is the worst case scenario
