Lighting how far to put scrog net from my ms006 ?

I know that in budding the tops should be between 16-12 inches away but where should the scrog net be ? This is my first time scrogging so I don't know what to expect I was going to do it 16 inches but then thought about how much the buds will rise above.. Has anyone out there done a scrog with one or knows of a diary to point me toward so I can learn the jist of it ? Any help is greatly appreciated thanks

Thanks tang found his thread didn't say the distance but it was a good read non the less I think I'm just going to put it 18 inches from the light and hope for the best might put a diary up in the dp forum since its nearing flower time

It seems to me that when doing a scrog one would be more concerned about how far above the pot/soil level to put it. Are you not able to move your light up and down?

I can move my light down but not up unless I do a bit of work on it, I can move the plant down a bit but not much. I'm guessing the nets about 27 inch above soil the plants 8 inches tall and 15 inches wide atm. Do you know why its about how far above the soil ? I thought the distance was about how much light buds get and the right intensity and footprint it will provide

If you're doing photos it won't matter so much since you can just veg until they fill the net. But if they are autos then you only have a limited amount of time for them to fill it so you want to have quite a bit lower but with enough room for air flow and for you to fiddle around under the net.

Oh right I understand now yes I'm growing a photo period strain Skunk 1 from Dutch passion, only grew it twice and both times it's given me the biggest buds iv ever had so I thought I would give it a go with scrog

Height would depend on the likely overall height of the strain of plant. 8-16" is the norm.

I agree with Officinalis. With a photoperiod, it really doesn't matter because you can veg until the screen is filled. That being said, 12" is the most mentioned height that I've heard, when dealing with photos.
