Indoor How many???

HEY AFN, have a few questions....
First off a bit on the set up.....
5x5 grow tent 7 foot tall, 600w MH/HPS air cooled hood, all 6 inch duct exhaust with carbon filter, 2 circulation fans, 5 gallon grow pots with foxfarms ocean forest/light warrior. World of seeds, Afghan Kush Ryder.

Question #1-How many plants should I put in the tent and still have good light penetration?

Hi briman..I have no idea how many plants you could put in there, but you could look at it from this aspect: a 600W HPS puts out about 90,000 lumens. From what I've read, you need around 3,000 lumens per square foot for a decent grow, 5,000 per sq ft for an optimal grow. You have 25 square feet so that gives you 3,600 lumens per sq ft.

With a single bulb, I wouldn't pack the tent. Good luck with the grow.

yeh canna is right the main thing is adequate lighting for the area lumens more accurate than watts, from there its just choosing what you want. id try 5 big ones in 5 gals or lots of smaller ones in 1gals or something smaller sog style. i had 5 in 5 gal and they crowded out a 3.3ftx3.3ft tent, when its crowded the sides of he plants dont get any light so you actually waste space. im going with 4 next time myself or smaller pots.
the strain will obviously matter, check how big they grow find some journals that use 5 gals to get an idea.

tl:dr version: id say 5 or 6 max in big pots anyway.

2 -3 gallon is optimum, unless your going with some super autos. but with 5er's id say 5 or 6 also.
