Hydroponic? Drain to waste? Or just soil? Microgrow

Hey guys,
I plan my next grow with just one plant. Strain: Fastbuds/Sexbud FEM. My Box is super small, and thats my choice. My first grow was a big one, I don't need the big yield so I plan to do a nice Micro-Grow.
As visible on the picture, the pot takes alot of space. I was also thinking if Hydro (drain to waste) would make sence. A system with this coco (cogr) with a rinse off system to drain. What do you think, does it make sence?

For plant management, I will top after the second node and then LST and SCROG. Any tipps are appreciated to manage this box and create a nice mini-grow

I top after the 5th or 6th node and cut off the bottom branches. Also if you're gonna go with that setup for coco your gonna need a pump or some valves. The way it's drawn, the rez will continue to drain out until it hits the tube inside. You can gravity feed but you're gonna need a shut off valve. If you put the rez below plant level, you can use a small pump and a timer

Basically I failed this time.
My biggest problem was, that after switching to 12/12 it took the plant 2 weeks to go to flowering.. maybe the young plant was not adult yet.

This time i transplanted the small mini project in my bigger tent... next time I have to do something different. May less volume for roots? May starting not from seeds?

Looking forward to some tipps how i can handle it better next time. Or should i start with a slidely higher box? Goal is micro grow, limiting yield and low power consumption.
So far the system used 30 kwh electricity!

@420autoflower you have a nice scrog-system where you basically flat out the plant at a way later point. Would you see this method suitable to work with such limited spaces? thanks!
