I have this growing in an abundance in my backyard any of you have any comments
Wild crafting friends is definitely something I dig .I am not familiar with Japanese knotweed but make tea out of a number of plants an yes there probably would be microbes in the root zone but if there's minerals in the plant that works great let me look it up for natural vitamin content .Oh yea I am familiar with that, we used to call it torture bamboo lol... @dankstyle J
any ideas?
I'm familiar with it from western washington, thought maybe you would have seen where you are... it it's an invasive and amazingly fast growingYes this plant contains phosphorus potassium zinc an a few other elements it would most likely make a great tea .Its roots spread by rhizomes so a root tea or soil by roots would be full of microbes as well .
I believe the previous owners used the JKW to control erosion along creek Doing a great job so far
it is also a great privacy fence from late April threw mid October. The bees love it because its the 1st thing in the area to flower It is invasive but I manage to keep it out of the yard.
