End of week 5: Day 35/36 for the Brain Damage plants. Growing well and I've increased nutrient strength again. Runoff PPM was still below input. Day 31 pushed to 125% strength and by Day 34 had increased to 150% strength. Runoff PPM is starting to be at or above input so I will leave it there for now. 1230ppm currently. Volume also increased from 615ml twice a day to 850ml and now 1Litre.

Both plants following about the same decrease in runoff volume and nutrient strength levels.

Brain Damage #1: Currently Day 37

Since last update: Feed strength increased to 125% on D31 (1085ppm), to 150% on D36, volume increased from 615ml to 850ml to 1L.

D31: 615ml in : 323ml runoff @825ppm

Increase frequency to 2x a day, AM/PM 615ml
D32 AM: 245ml runoff @865ppm
PM: 260ml runoff @865ppm

D33 AM: 220ml runoff @941ppm
PM: 276ml runoff @840ppm

D34 AM: 94ml runoff @1163ppm
PM: 161ml runoff @960ppm

Significant decrease in runoff volume, increased AM volume to 850ml:

D35 AM: 850ml input - 277ml runoff @1040ppm
PM: 615ml input - 161ml runoff @945ppm

Increased nutrient strength again due to runoff ppm staying below input strength - From 1085 to 1230ppm (150%), increased volume to 850ml AM/PM.

End of week 6: Day 42, full end of week 6. Light schedule has been flipped to 12/12.


The last week of watering saw an increase in volume from 850 to 1500ml AM & PM. PPM did get a bit high a couple of days so it looks like the 150% strength was just a bit high. I haven't any solid numbers as the plants got moved to a pump/reservoir system. I need to be out of town for a few days so I set up the system ahead of time.

However, at the flip I moved the plants to a Bloom Transition nutrient mix. Using the Jack's line up I add equal parts A, Epsom, Bloom, and B. Went with 3g/gallon of each and ended right at 1330ppm. Just slightly stronger than the previous nute strength but these are getting a bit more volume with the pumps.

Once 4 days of the transition blend is in I move them to the full Bloom product for 5-7 days and then back to the original formula.

Both plants gained a lot of size in the last week. They got a light defoliation on any overlapping areas and took out a few of the new spindly shoots.

End of week 7: Day 49. Lights were flipped on Day 42/43.

Going into flowering I made a transition nutrient batch. Adding in the Jacks Bloom product to the standard A/Epsom/B at a rate of 3g/gallon of each. Came to ~1320ppm and was run for just a couple days. That was followed by the full Bloom mixture.

Transition mix: 3g/gal A/Epsom/Bloom/B : ~1330ppm
Bloom mix: 5.65g/gallon Bloom and 1.1g/gallon Epsom salt

I ran the Bloom mix at 6x, 33.9g Bloom and 6.6g Epsom - ~1200ppm

Bloom mix has been run for approxmately 6 days and the Jacks recommendation is 5-7 days. That plus the couple of transition days should be sufficient. I currently have signs of flowering starting and the plants are being moved back to the standard blend at 125% strength.

End of week 8: Day 56 - Flowering time - Week 2 : Day 4

Currently running at 100% nutrient strength. Been fighting high runoff ppm after coming off the Bloom reservoir for a few days. Day 50 was the first day back on hand watering.

BD#1 - ran lots of extra volume and dropped the nute strength to try and bring the runoff concentration down a bit. Things spiked due to the low input/runoff of the first week while on the temporary reservoir.
