Hello growfriends! This is going to be a grow thread for Jean-O's Photoperiod strain Devils Lettuce. We are going to run 2 plants of this strain. Planning on 1.5gal airpots loaded with coco and Jacks 3-2-1 nutrient line.


The start: Nice little sleeve and carefully packed seeds.

Just shy of 48 hours soak time: Two small tails sticking out. These were the first to crack! Seeds have been placed into peat Jiffy pellets. Now we wait for growth.

Germination: Both DL seeds are up! DL#1 and DL#2 germinated on the same day. I did have to dig up #2 just a hair but, more simply removed the dirt over the seed shell. Should be standing by tomorrow I hope.

Devils Lettuce #1:

Devils Lettuce #2 : I suspected it was "up" but not poked through yet. A gentle excavation. The pre made hole in the pellet was a bit deep.

End of week 1: Day #9 update for both. Missed the end of the week by a couple days. Slow but steady growth. Smaller than the Brain Damage tent mates but these were potted at early sprout and the others were a bit taller.

Seedling strength Jacks "clone" product. (377ppm and 6.2pH)

D6: 615ml in - did not measure runoff

DL#1 D9: 615ml in - 310ml out @388ppm

DL#2 D9: 615ml in - 320ml out @370ppm

End of week 2: Day 14

Both plants watered today. 615ml for each. First watering with 60% strength nutrients.
Growing well but definitely slower than the Brain Damage strain.

Devils Lettuce #1:
615ml in - 260ml runoff @461ppm

Devils Lettuce #2:
615ml in - 295ml runoff @ 509ppm

End of week 3 : Day 21 -

Day 21 for DL#1 & DL#2. Both growing quickly now.

Nutrient strength has been increased to 80%, with the Jacks line that is 3g A, 2g B, and 1g Epsom salt. I bump the Epsom to 1.3-1.4g/gallon. Current feed strength has been 765ppm @6.1pH

Plants were fed 615ml on Day 14 (60%), Day 18 and Day 21 (80%). Watering frequency has increased from every 4/5th day to every 3rd day. Soon be moving to everyday.


Devils Lettuce #1: Day 21 - Growing a nice long stem. Would make hand watering very easy to reach.

Fed on Day 18 & 21 - 80% strength : 756ppm @6.1pH
D18: 615ml in : 267ml runoff @563ppm
D21: 615ml in : 265ml runoff @590ppm

Devils Lettuce #2 : Day 21 A bit smaller than the others but keeping pace in terms of growth.

Fed on Day 18 & 21 - 80% strength : 756ppm @6.1pH
D18: 615ml in : 265ml runoff @ 590ppm
D21: 615ml in : 287ml runoff @ 580ppm
