I've never grown a photo. Maybe one of these days. I like checking out your grows.

Photos just seem to have such a strong terpy dank smell. I know some of the autos are for stealth and all, but photos just seem to be better smoke imho.
I’ve grown some really great autos, and this is just my humble opinion, but photo period plants just seem more everything to me. Maybe I’m wrong. Probably am.

Auto flower are still nice and dense and have a good odor after curing

These are photos and they seem to have a higher trich production and have an amazing smell as soon as they are dried.
Maybe it’s genetics, maybe it’s me!? Idk but I would like someone with a ton of experience to chine in in this subject.

MarsHydro 4x4 tent
Mars Hydro FC-E 4800 light
Coco coir in 1.5gal airpots
Jacks 3-2-1 nutrients
RO water

I tend to put the photos in the large tent as evidenced here, they can get out of hand size wise.


I did just finish an auto run with Twenty20 seeds and an HLG light. I am pretty excited to see the gram/watt ratio on that one. Just need to get the final update pics and a weight in a few days.

Word. Can’t wait for those!! This is a few pics of my last photo grow. It was a complimentary seed from TrueNorth when ordering my first Mephisto Genetics from them as well. Love the trellis netting which I picked up from ac infinity for super cheap. GreenGenes uses the trellis game with outstanding results. Just trying to mimic!!

These are under the HLG600 rspec at about 80% and 20” from the canopy. Hence the light damage to the fans and sugars as well as the shoot off buds.

Wow, those are great! Yes, the HLG lights are fantastic. I am not disappointed in the least with my MH gear but, HLG is clearly nextlevel up.

That’s what I was trying to figure out. If I’ve been buying the hype or not. I see the difference between my china bought boards and my hlg qb set ups, but just wasn’t sure. How is that mh tent for light leaks ?

Of course there are a couple guys on here who grow incredible plants on $50 off brand lights from Amazon. So..... yeah, just have to decide if the investment is worth it for you.

As far as the MH tent? I've not seen any leaks or holes anywhere. I do tend to tape mine up a lot on the inside to help control smell. Aluminum backed foil duct tape on the inside and gorilla waterproof tape on the outside. The zippers hold up quite well. I've got one small 2.3x2.3 that's just over 2 years old at this point. It's got a couple small areas where you can start to see through the stitching but a bit of tape fixes that pretty easy. I do think they are a better tent than the very inexpensive no name versions or Vivosun. ACInfinity make tents but I don't know that they are any better, they just have the pockets and attachments for their controllers and accessories built in.

If you're looking for the step up on tents the only one I've seen with an actual quality difference has been Gorilla but they are spendy. Again just a bit of that beginner vs hobbyist vs enthusiast grading.

Yeah I’ve heard those gorilla tents are dank. I run all ac infinity bc I’m a name brand whore and I like how the stuff is all interoperable, does mh have ventilation setup and auto controls etc.?? I’ve usually used grow space with no filter etc and only recently switched to a tent. Which I like, however I am building out a designated space as I don’t like contending with sucking walls and light leaks etc. I will be finishing this current grow out in my tents, but after this will use them for breeding and propagation. All this being said I’ve grown some true beauties in the tent. I just have been fortunate enough to procure lights to power a much bigger grow space and wanna give it a run!! Thanks for the info already given and thanks in advance for anything your or anyone has to add. It takes a village.
