I am considering adding a heater to my grow room this winter. My lights keep the room around 65-70 in the dead of winter but I was thinking a little heat wouldn't hurt and it would provide some co2 to the mix as well. I have a kerosene heater but it would cost an arm and leg to run in there.

Any ideas on propane or kerosene that wouldn't use much fuel? I don't need to increase temps that much really, maybe 15 degrees in a 10x10x10 room, so 1000 cubic feet. It has active intake and exhaust but I would just shut those off if I could keep my co2 up. I have looked at a few small propane heaters but they have co2 monitors that shut them off. I suppose I could disable the monitor but would prefer not to deal with it.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

By the way, the room is insulated with R30 so it will stay warm or cold depending on what is running. Not worried about heat loss at all.

Back in the day we used PURE, UNSCENTED Lamp oil (in a lamp) but there is an ever present fire hazard with this technique.

Mine owe me a new leather couch.

I have a cat who loves eating weed.

I don't give it to him on purpose, I'm pretty against drugging animals and small children for personal amusement, but the little bastard keeps finding my bags. I can't tell you how many times I've come home to a shredded zip, crumbs all over, and a cat passed out in a puddle of slobber.

He owes me hundreds of dollars by now.

Yeah, I have a few hurricane lamps and considered that but I don't want to have to go in and blow them out every time the lights go off. Was thinking something that had an electric start I could put on a timer. I have looked at the gas generators and a small one burner is close to $400. That is crazy for a cheap ass burner and piezo starter.

A4, LP construction heaters don't have any CO2 detectors in them but they throw around 50,000 BTUs minimum, which is a lot of heat especially in a confined space around plants. I'd look for a LP heater that warns you not to use it inside. Check out the Mr. Heater devices on Amazon. Cheers

4°c this morning at 5am:no: recon if it wasn't for the cloud cover/rain possibly a first frost, roll on February

Morning all. It's been a freak year for weather in the UK . I'm on the NE coast and the sun is out , warm for this time of year but not complaining . I have a green house to dismantle and relocate this week for next season . Can't wait to start a Auto green house grow next year . Have a nice day all .

Suns out down here now, nice blue skies
Going fishing tomorrow so hope it clouds over a bit
