Day 58
  • Plants are drinking and drinking and drinking some more drinking. Im going to feed them with the next watering which will probably be tomorrow or Thursday.

Drawback to the plants slurping up the H2O, the increase in humidity.
    Screenshot_20231226_141501_AC Infinity.jpg

Hight of the day peaking at 71-72%. The stand-alone monitor I had in the tool pouch said 52% but i tied it to a string and hung it near the canopy and waited a 10 minutes and it was at 59% so tent dehumidifier coming soon I suppose.

Plants are liking it though. Bud production is starting full swing. Budsites keep popping out more and more white hairs. Only thing is I think the Forbidden Jelly is gonna be a picky girl throughout flowering. Didnt get any pics, but some leaves near the top are starting to develop purplish tips and edges so, I cant remember which p or k deficiency causes it, but will be feeding the girls soon. Besides this, plants are happy.

To prepare for the final leg of stretching and bud production Ive taken the ratchet hangers out and hung the light directly around one of the cross members at the top. Adds about 5ish extra inches.
Also to deal with the humidity the clip on and exhaust are both at 80 percent power. Trying to suck out as much moisture out as possible before the plants breath it out into the air, but its a losing battle. Thinking about opening another vent to allow more fresh air to exchange. The room is about 53-60% depending on how damp it is outside. Warm winter is really screwing my environment.

Anyway I think thats all for today. Thanks for stopping by.

    Day 63
  • So theres a lot to touch on in this update.

#1 thing is nutrient issues with the Forbidden Jelly. I forgot to take detailed pics but the purple areas of the few leaves effected are now brown and working their way down the leaves from the tips. Also starting to get some tip burn all over. Not too concerned with that but I havent been feeding very heavy. Considering giving a actual full feed to see if that helps but I just did a plain wateeing today with ph spring water. Noticed that when I was dipping the bags in the saucers to soak up runoff, plants were healthier so I did that with the Forbidden Jelly and the Mimosa. Left the Forbidden Jelly sit in the runoff for about 30 minutes but it didnt take much back up. Same with the Mimosa. Also some frost on budsites and sugar leaves is really starting to pile on.

Mimosa is doing very well. Theres some minor tip burn on some leaves but those are few and far between. She is by far the heathiest girl in the tent. Frost is starting to pour out on budsites and it continues to flourish despite my novice skills as a grower. Glad I got a 5 pack of these because this one will definitely be grown again and soon, but I wanna hrow some autos first.

The Ayahuasca is kinda just there. Shes doing well but I have a feeling since it was so immature before the flowering cycle started that she wont yeild too much. Bud sites are popping out all over and shes in great health but by how they are forming they all seem like they are going to be airy and larfy because of how small the plant is and its distance from the light. Shes the one stinking up my tent for sure. Smells like nice oldschool bud right now, skunky and pungent.

Pics are as follows: Ayahuasca Purple, Mimosa, Forbidden Jelly, and a budsite on the mimosa to show trichomes. The pic of the ayahuasca and mimosa shows a bit of tge discoloration on the forbidden jelly.

    Day 70
  • Figured it was time for another threadmarked update.

Today was a surprise for me, all 3 pots were bone dry, turgor pressure was down and leaves were starting to droop heavily on the bottoms.

Took me a total of 2.5 hours to water and feed. Took a different approach to it this time. Watered each pot very slowly with a heavy dose of sledgehammer, pots were very hydrophobic. First 1/4 shot straight through even with the yucca. Waited a good 15 minutes before continuing. Next 1/4 almost shot straight through but stopped running off very quickly, after this watering resumed like normal. By the end of each gallon they were not running off at all anymore. The next gallon for each pot was a full feed (653ppm). Wasnt sure if the anthocyanin poking out on the forbidden jelly was a result of nute deficiency or just the regular purple finally showing. In my experience, which is little, purple develops from the stem out to the edges normally and thus was the edges first again. Pots only took about another 1/3-3/4 of a gallon of the feed so hopefully it wasnt too heavy. After this it was just running straight through.

The watering brings me to the Ayahuasca. For some reason that pot has just been sipping water and doing very well. Today when I went to heaft the pot I almost fell backwards. I expected some weight to it and there was none at all. This was concerning to me because it hasnt been drinking like that since the beginning. Also was the plant that took the least water. So hydrophobic that almost the entire gallon treated with yucca shot through the pot, its "saturated" now, and fed, though this plant has shown 0 signs of deficiencies. Figured it wouldnt hurt since I havent been feeding her basically at all. She is showing signs of purpling up though which I tried to get in pics, but came out more red than the purple I see with my eyes.

Other than the above mentioned things, everything else seems great. Humidity has been in a great spot since opening the second passive intake. Usually between 48-55%. Temps have been relatively steady, staying between 73-78 lights on and 68-75 lights off.

Thats all for today. Thanks for stopping by.

Edit: forgot to add, included a half dose of cal/mag with this feed. Noticing a lot of tip burn and the effect leaves from the deficiency on the forbidden jelly are very slowly spreading ao I figured I would be precautious about that. Wasnt really necessary on the other 2 plants but hey I mixed 2 gallons with a 1/2 tsp of the stuff so I gave it to all of them.

    Day 79
  • Didnt realize it was 9 days since my last threadmark.

Not much to mention besides some nute issues, may be a combo of lock up in the soil and too much light. Getting yellowing towards the tops and brown spots slowly appearing. Think phosphorus was unavailable. To fix this I added available phosphorus and added a bunch of myco and lowered the ph during the last few waterings to 6.1. Seems to have halted the progression now.

Buds are starting to swell. Still forming some calyxs but the newer growth is really slowing down and swelling is starting to ramp up.

Had to start running a humidifier, with the negative temps its pulling moisture out of the air. Woke up today and RH was at 39% and pots had dried out completely. Treated with ph water and lots of yucca.

Think thats it for updates, heres some photos. Starting with the physical symptoms Ive been seeing then just bud porn

    Day 86
  • Not much to report here today but its been a week.

Pistils on the Ayahuasca and the tops of the Mimosa x Orange Punch are all orange and receeded but trichs are still about 50% clear, couple amber here and there but less than 1% for sure. Took a few pics with the microscope. Hopefully I get them in the right order. Kinda was jumping around from plant to plant while taking them

Took some of the forbidden Jelly yesterday. These are like the best trich shots Ive ever got.

All 3 plants are extremely pungent and sticky. Like glue almost. I do my best not to touch the buds too much but its the best way to really get a good idea of the terpene profile in my opinion. A gentile squeeze with the tips of washed fingers and then I just pinch my fingers together a couple times and the aroma is much stronger than you can smell directly off the plant. For instance I said a week ago the Mimosa didnt have a particular smell to it, well it does now. Smells like a glass of orange juice and 7 up. Mimosa is definitely a word I would use to discribe it. Smells amazing. Ayahuasca still smells of candy, but its developed a bit more depth, now its got a sour finish to the smell, reminds me of carmel apple pops. The forbidden jelly to me still smells like a fried pb and j but my friend said it smelled like a good espresso. To each their own I guess. Either way they all smell great.

One thing I can add is that since the plants are still a couple weeks from harvest I gave all 3 a light feed. Hopefully bulk up the buds on the mimosa a bit more, counteract some of the early fading at the tops, and develop more terpenes before the 2 in the back get the chop. May progressively harvest the mimosa but I will probably just chop the Ayahuasca down all at once and hang the whole plant. Theres not much to her. The Forbidden Jelly got some food too. Well see what it does for em over the next week. Just used big bloom, tiger bloom, a 1/8tsp of kelp and boomerang, to get some more of the micronutrients in there.

Thats all for today, thanks for stopping by

Day 94 (getting close to chop for Mimosa and Ayahuasca)
  • So its been 8 days since my last threadmarked post.

Getting close to chop time for the Ayahuasca Purple and Mimosa x Orange Punch. Sugar leaves are starting to get riddled with amber trichs buds have very few clear left, mostly cloudy or at least part way cloudy and a few amber on the buds.

Last time I havested with 0 amber on the buds and I was more prone to panic attacks when I smoked. Not completely unpleasant, but still not desired. Think this was a result from harvesting with too many clear trichs. So Im kinda riding these out as long as possible.

As for the Forbidden Jelly. It is starting to foxtail on 2 of the colas. A bunch of clear trichs still so I guess the fox tailing will just have to happen lol. Microscope pics are from well below the foxtailing, but shes looking good regardless

Day 98 Chop Time for Ayahuasca Purple
  • Im harvesting this plant about a week early. While I was checking ripeness of trichs, which I forgot to take pics of, I noticed they were ALL cloudy with very few amber. Tons of amber on the sugar leaves. I wanted to wait to see a small amount of amber showing up on the buds but I need more smoke. I also didnt really take pics of the plant before chopping it down. Not feeling the greatest today so I just wanted to get in there strip as many fan leaves as I could and get the plant hanging.

Was gonna use my unused coat closet as a make shift drying room but my basement has been staying at a good temp and humidity for hanging. About 67°F and the humidity is staying in the 50-58% range. So shes on a hanger, hang off a nail in the rafters.

I did however like the photo opportunity I saw for the forbidden Jelly once I put the tent back together.

    20240204_114651.jpg

Also that green splotchiness spread to other leaves in the past couple days. Leaves were shriveled up and basically dead, but still soft. Very strange, plucked all effected leaves which was about 8 or 9. You can see one I missed in the bottom pic. Its the leaf turned upside down with the curly fingers on the left. Edges of the leaf had the greenish black coloration. Maybe man o green was right and its got guttation going on and the excess moisture is killing off those leaves. Another reason why I decided to make more room in the tent. Better air flow. I dont see this issue effecting any of the buds. So I will just pray that it makes it the last couple weeks. She has the most clear and a good number of amber trichs too so its hard to judge how much time is left. The majority of amber is on the sugar leaves, but there is still amber on some buds too.

I will take some good pics of the ayahuasca after I do my chores today. Will get some whole plant shots and some trich close ups and post them later on today.

Mimosa is my tents godsend right now. Though Im more interested in the Ayahuasca and Forbidden Jelly as far as looks and smell, the Mimosa just has rock solid nugs all the way down. EVERY SINGLE NUG IS DENSE AS THE COLAS. Never seen anything like it before but I have a feeling that this plant will win the biggest harvest weight of all 3. Even the larfy looking buds are dense as a rock and that puts the biggest smile on my face.

Sorry for the lack of pics again but when Im feeling more up to it I will flood the page with pics. Also yes my fan is dirty, its from the humidifier when the temps were sub 0. Also I have the humidifier running away from the tent now to keep the humidity up around the area the plant is drying in. Humidistat is set at 55% and is reading 54%.

I did take a shitty pic of the ayahuasca after the chop Ill just throw it up

Just under 3ozs. Didnt trim up too well but my hands are like glue. Might not be FULLY dry. Leaves crumbled off, no stems snapping but I think I will be alright. Going in the jar now. Bovida packs will be here by the time I get out of work.

Chop day for the Mimosa and Forbidden Jelly.
  • Running out of time to take pics but I did a light stripping of leaves, anything dead or not really needed to slow down the dry. First time I will be using the tent as a dry room. Took the light out, put the circulation fan at the bottom of the tent and the 2 beauties are on hangers.
    20240209_113337.jpg

If I got just under 3 ozs from the Ayahuasca I expect at least triple from each of these. Hopefully more, fingers crossed.

Next on the docket is an auto grow. Looking for any testers to keep my cc badge so if anyone see anything interesting while looking around lemme know. Right now all I have for autos is 2 gmo and 1 granite runtz. Will be buying some seeds at the end of the month and getting supplies together for that run. Basically out of ferts and soil. Also since its autos I was thinking of running 4-5 in 3 gallon bags, which I also dont have.
