Currently growing in a 2' x 4' tent that's 82 inches high with a KindLED K3 Series 2 XL 600 with 4 plants around the 5 week period. The grow is going well enough (I'm a 1st timer) after much learning and researching (mostly from this site).

I'm not particularly happy with the lighting I'm currently using and will be upgrading to some cob lights for my next grow and will probably go a a 3 x 3 or 4 x 4 tent as well. Really don't want to go over 4 plants at once though. It's a lot of work, lol.

My question is, which lights to purchase? I've been looking at cobshop.net and the 3x3 tent special 4 cob kit but I'm not sure if that's the right purchase for me right now. I'm in the early flower stage of my grow and still have awhile to go and am even thinking about replacing my KindLED out for cobs in the middle of the grow but I'm not sure that's the right thing to do. What do you think?

The 6500k light for seedlings sound perfect for germinating (going to not be using the papertowel method next time, and instead go right into 3 gallon spring pots with CocoLoco FF soil after soaking seed overnight in RO water and part h202 to soften). But, I really don't know what to do for lighting.

What would you suggest for a 4 plant setup in a tent 82 inches high?

I changed back to a 2x4 tent and use the 3500K Autocob. It's a great all around light. I have six, but am only using four, two per plant at this juncture. One Autocob per plant works well too. The great part about Autocobs is no noise since there is no fan. Low electrical draw. .49 Amps. Low heat throw. Which ever you choose will do you right.

Thanks for responding. I'm just finding the 2x4 too cramped. I have a floor fan, humidifier, and 4 5 gallon pots. I just want more room. So i took the plunge and have a Mars 4x4x80 tent, a 6 in infinity exhaust fan, 6 in can-lite filter, and the 6500 cob light and the 3x3 4x4 4 pack cob light set from cobshop on the way. Going to use a 4 in intake fan and filter for fresh air coming in and already have an extra.

Im guessing only use the 6500 for the seedling at 30 inches and probably a heat mat for the germination process. Im not using those 5 gallon pots either. I dont like how long it takes between watering. I just feel they're too big for an auto but I'm still learning.

Hey there, I’m very familiar with the light you have now. While I’m not allowed to talk about my experience on this site I can tell you what you’ll find with the cobs will be extremely good. And not just because I sell them. The 4 cob package is ideal for a 3x3 space and really all that’s needed from seed to flower. This kit will also give you two times the light as your current one. All while drawing less wall wattage than the one you have now and giving off less heat. The difference is all in the quality of the parts. The growth and overall plant health will be primarily from the full spectrum.

The 6500k is great for seedlings and also adds a boost in blue which is beneficial in late flower to boost overall quality. (Resin). Also adds a bit more light to the space if you wanted to run it full term.

In the early grows it’s probably not needed to run anything bigger than a 3 gallon. As you progress the extra capacity can help relieve you from watering as much. When the roots start filling in watering will be a lot more frequent.

I'm excited to get all my new equipment and get set up. One of the main draws I've found from my current lighting, is the inability to keep my plants within the best possible distance of 30' to 34'. Some plants are stretching whilst others are squatting. So, I'm having to use bricks on the squatters just to raise them up. That's one of the main reasons (besides better light quality) for wanting to try out the Cobs. Having the ability to raise and lower the lights individually versus a complete unit is invaluable, IMO. Also you're one of the main reasons why I chose cobshop.net for my purchase. I've been reading testimonials from other members on this site and seeing you post and provide insight means a lot. So, good job and gratz on another customer.

I just started to see that this evening. I watered 1.5 gallons Friday night and that usually lasts 6 days. I checked earlier today how dry they were using my control wizard ph/moisture meter thinking they'd be around 6 or 7 and low and behold they were at 2 and 3 and light as a feather. LOL. That's only 3 days! I may stay with 5 gallons pots afterall. We'll see.

Before you know it you’ll be on12 hour intervals before watering. After a few months you’ll go crazy and spend days researching automation. It’s all part of the fun
