Hello everybody! I am a quadriplegic that lives in southern Louisiana about 30 miles west of New Orleans. I am looking to grow bud for the first time because I am tired of spending money to buy it and I am tired of waiting for it to become medically legal here. I know it was approved but you cannot find a doctor anywhere that will prescribe it or find a place to buy it from. I will probably try outside first because I was offered a yard to grow it in today that is fenced in. I was thinking about buying seeds soon and planting them can someone tell me if I will be successful doing this right now with my climate.

Welcome NugPufr! You'll like it here, very helpful and friendly peoples! Yes the SE USA climate in general is pretty good for outdoor herb, the fence is good, should keep deer out. So you'll have some heat and a couple bugs to deal with but absolutely doable. Welcome again!

Hello, and welcome.. I think you'll do fine.. Are you going to use pots and soil.?
Also might want to look for a strain with low odor.. check out Herbies seeds, I bought a 3 pack and got 6 more free

Welcome. You will do fine in that area with 2 things to worry about ... 1) critters, and 2) don't use local natural soil if your about where I think you are.

Pots and a store bought mix medium may be your best bet, but YMMV

You can get better info on your soil from locals.

I'm not far from ya. You'll be fine outdoors. If you order some seeds now and look through journals to get a good plan of feeding and maintaining your plants you'll be good to drop by the first of next month.

Growing your own meds is great. If you need anything, just ask. There is a lot of people here to help you out, and no question is to silly. Do you know what kind of strains you'd like yet? I don't know about your area, but at my place the local "soil" is garbage. We have a great organic section here if you are interested in going that route. See you around!
