Grow Room Nirvana Northern Light and Short Rider Micro grow

Final Resting Place

NL-SR 1 gallon SmartPot 003.jpg N/L and S/R One Gallon SmartPot

These one gallon SmartPots are bigger than I thought. Set Soil Tabs in 3/4 from top.
There is around 3" from the germ pots. I cut the bottom of the germ pots; set them into soil. Covered them real good and gave them a good watering. Will not water them again until they dry out a bit. Let those tap roots search for water. Added 2tsp per 1/2 gallon of Route 66 to the watering. They are under a 200w Feliz "Blue". The light is further away than I'd like. I just want to see how they "stretch". I'll move them closer if I need to. There is enough room to put in some extra cfl lighting later in the grow.

Now it's let see how these girls react. Cross our fingers. The Nirvana Soil/Flower Tab experiment is offically open.

This grow is for you Chester32141. I hope it will help.

I got a front row seat for this one ... Is Route 66 a root stimulant ?

Day #7 Seedlings. Short Riders taking off.

The SuperBox inside temp is 80F-85F (26c-30c); good air circulation.
Water ph @ 6.5-7.2; Nirvana Soil Tabs

They're really taking off ... they will be bushes in no time ... can't wait to see how they respond to the soil tabs ... :thedogsbollocks:

It may be too soon to call, but these Autos are responding like the Bubble Photos on my last grow. The Soil Tabs are very hard pucks. They'll slowly desolve and hopefully be all they'll need. The S/Rs are reacting nicely. They seem to be a bit more lively than my last S/R Micro Grow w/o the Soil Tabs. Nirvana says that it's just fine to add right away; good for seedlings as well. Only time will tell.

Go Red Sox

Although I was raised in the NYC area I was never a Yankee fan. Moving to New England it was an easy root for the Red Sox.

Tonight is the 1st game of the World Series at Fenway Park.

Not a Boston (city) fan. The traffic is awful and too many snobs. I still love NYC. Much easier to get around and the people are easier to get along with, but not by much.

How far below the seed did you place the soil tab ?

Maybe 3" from the bottom of the germ pot. I added the soil to the Smartpots about 1/3 down. Then added Soil Tab; put more soil on top of tab. Placed germ pot seedling on top of the soil and added more soil to fill in. I added soil right to the top of the SmartPot. Covered the stem of the plants right up to the starter leaves.

Check soil moisture every day. The bottom soil in the SmartPots is moist/wet today. Normally I'd water today because the top 1/3 is going into the dry cycle. Going to wait one more day to get the tap roots searching for moisture. The lifting "feel" of the pots are not as "ligh"t as I'd like. One day of dryness isn't gonna hurt. Sometimes it's "cruel to be kind".
