Day #21 VEG
Day #21 VEG; She's been LST'd once on the 2nd node. Will continue LST each 2nd or 3rd node. I may not be able to get a full circle LST on this grow considering she's in her 3rd week of VEG. Going to keep LST as long as possible before I put the 12/12 cycle.

One thing I noticed though.
Im just wondering about the 12/12. I always read that 12/12 for auto's will reduce yields.

Correct you are. Leaving the 18/6 cycle. Going to change the light spectrum to "Red". Thanks for the reminder, Neko. Been doing photos the last few grows and just had a brain fart.

Second LST Tie Down
2nd LST tie down. Also she got the 1st full strength of nutrients (Recipe for Success). I have the SmartPot raised on a one inch garden grate. The air circulation is complete. She is not sitting flat on the clay saucer. Her soil dries out faster or she's just drinking up. One gallon of water or nutrient to each water-feed. Normally that will take 3-4 days on my last grow for the soil to dry out. Now she'll dry out (4.5 on moisture meter) in two days. The next LST will bring her to the edge of the SmartPot. Then she'll be LST'd to start the circle.
Note: My pH meter needs to be calibrated. I used the liquid pH test that comes with the RfS kit. The color of the nutrients is a light brown so it's a bit difficult to get a good reading. However, it's within the proper range 6.3-6.8.
The center of the NL is opening up nicely. Besides keeping her short it's one of the reasons to do an LST. Those bud sites would be hidden by the larger upper growth. Now everything is even and all the light the cfls can give off is directed on all the bud sites. As these sites get larger they will be LST'd also.
Recipe for Success @ Gallon (FEED-WATER-WATER)
3 teaspoons BOOST
1.5 teaspoon GROW
1/2 teaspoon Thrive Alive (GREEN)
1 teaspoon CALiMAGic (General Hydroponics; ran out of the Technaflora Cal Mag)
2 teaspoons Blackstrap Mollasses (instead of Sugar Daddy)

Did you get my P.M.? Man, she look's great! Keep up the good work. One question; When did you start feeding her and what is the strength of your nutrient mix? I need as much advice I can get, from what I've read Auto's are really fussy when it comes to feeding.

I may not be able to do the circle LST on this grow. My NL is very bushy and staying short. If I start the circle I have 1/2 the container that isn't covered by the growth. The smaller growth on the bottom can be LST's better to open up the canopy. Allowing the main cola to just grow as normal. LST can be helpful, but at the moment this NL is doing fine w/o any additional training. I don't need to put any stress on her and just gonna let her do her thing at this time.

Yes I got your PM.
I started her nutrients at the start of the 3rd week. I use Techanaflora's Recipe for Success at 1/4 strength and then work up to full strength. The cycle is FEED-WATER-WATER. It's always to start with 1/4-1/2 strength and then if necessary go to the max. The Northern Lights that I grew before tolerated full strength nutrients w/o an issue in VEG. FLOWERING is another story as she matures and her needs for nutrients are different. Then before I start my FLOWER nutrients I flush the soil and then start Bloom nutrients at full strength right off the bat. Cal/Mag issues usually start as she matures so keep up the Cal/Mag. Molasses has been a good addition in my case in FLOWER along with CALiMAGic. The RfS feeding has never given me any issues in both stages of grow.
I hope I've been some help. Just start small and work up. Keep water pH in the right range. Soil can tolerate a wide range of pH w/o problems. I keep it within 6.3-6.8, but others my have another way of doing it. This has been working just fine for me.
Relax and let the NL grow. When you are stressed she'll be stressed. Also allow the soil to dry out a bit before watering/feeding. Let the roots search for water and keep GOOD air circulation.
