Grow Room OS 24 Carat

Neko I suffering from whatever it is that you have. I put more seeds in paper towel last night. It occurred to me that the roots of the plants of my current grow are so underdeveloped that I can pull them from the res at any time and replace them with new plants. So I'm going to start cycling some nice new Mephisto plants into the mix. I've got my old res in a new tent with a Mars Hydro 300W old style. I'll move the stunted plants into the new tent if they are worth saving. Hopefully the res is sorted and the new plants will take off. I'm learning a lot.

I don't think you have to worry about a stunted plant that much when breeding. If they are able to rebound, you are good to go IMO.. Stress them too much, you stand a better chance than normal of getting a hermy that happen's to be pollinated at which point it's better just to throw it away. Hermies tend to breed more Hermies.

Thanks Bigolnoob, You think it's too late to reverse? I am seeing sings of new root growth. The largest of the Auto Blues has a bunch of new roots and there're many new white roots popping out around the farm.

Neko how big is your tent? It looks like you have a dozen plants in there. I'm gonna catch ya with the next version of my tent. I'm covering the whole floor with res and at least 16 grow sites. I have added another small tent which I want to use for seed starting and breeding.

Peace People :d5:

oh, nice! Congratualtions on the additional tent. My tent isnt to big. Ive just been figuring out space well I guess haha..Plus. I have to many plants going for my tent...That is, if I started them all at the same time. Ill be fine since as the others get biggers..A couple will be harvested..a couple more planted...then a couple more harvested..So on, and so forth. Trying to keep the largest possible perpetual grow in there.
I LOVE germing and starting new beans haha. So, I understand =P

My tent is 5 feet tall. 4 feet wide, and 2 feet in depth.
Somehow I have 10, 1-2 gallon pots. With 1 growing in a thin, and tall 30-40 ounce cup. So, 11 total lol. I lucked out on some of the plants not bushing out to much.

Looking forward to your new tent my friend. Sounds like its going to be bad ass. =)

Jack to tell you the truth, the lack of roots or brown roots is somewhat bothersome to me. To answer your question, it's never to late to turn things around. Remember, "It's a weed, it want's to grow" .. You have done everything to shield the water from light which is good because as you know, algae is a mofo. But if you wan't to take the next step, get another air pump. (And stone. X2 then) When we grew DWC, we learned to like volcanoes of air. The more bubbles the better imo. We liked it when there was so much in fact, that even when the res was low, the action of the bubbles popping on the surface continued to keep the roots wet.

Thanks guys! I'm using a pump with two air outlets and a couple of long slender stones but I have another air pump and some more stones I'll toss in. The ResClear seems to be doing it's job and the new root growth is almost universal across the plants. I know those plants are working overtime to reestablish their root systems, which can't be good for bud production. I have 8 Sour Crack in paper towel that should go into rockwool tonight or tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

Just a quick pic. The plants are growing more roots. So far 7 of the 8 New Sour Crack have hatched. I dropped all 8 into rockwool cubes and set them into the new tent to sprout. In addition to rinsing and pHing the rockwool I added ResClear to the mix. I'm not taking any chances this go round.

Neko, How's sunny CA today? New England's nice for a change. It should get into the mid 60s. Bikini weather! :Aloha:

Strange! I looked into my res this morning and noticed some brown growth on the bottom of my res. I added some H2O2 and it peeled away, floated to the surface and then disappeared. I am going to brew a batch of the Root Assist tea this weekend and try it in the res for the next change. If that doesn't work I'll add a water feature. I started having this problem when I got rid of the top feed in my old res. I'd guess that the top feed adds enough movement to the water in the system that bacteria can't get a foothold. Hopefully the tea will nip the problem.
