Alrighty...I have a bunch of non-fem auto's. I'd like to avoid transplanting, but I would also like to make sure I have enough females(need just 4) so I want to start extras(likely start 8 seeds). Not wanting to waste soil i'd like to start them in a 2 liter container that can be planted directly into the big pots once they show sex. Is peat pots the best choice for this, or is there something better?

I do this its the way I transplant em ,even doing it for the contest in in right now .

Have you noticed any slowing of growth while the pot is decomposing? I figure the next run I will try this out to simplify my setup and make it more effective. What size peat pots are you using bud?

Sounds good . It might be an idea though to partially crack the end of the peat pot just to let the root straight through . I have thought of the same method in order to buy me some space and time starting a new batch in the same tent as plants currently flowering . A corner of the tent with a few seedlings in peat pots getting ready to hog the floor space . You don't have to turn them upside down and well it's a bit dicier when transplanting an auto plant . You couldn't get any easier than a peat pot . You might want a perfect size box with a tray to keep them upright .

Not sure last run had terrible results tried to switch up to coco and failed miserably, since then actually recently I just plant directly into the five gallon airpot, back to soil my roots lol

Hmm...the problem for me is space vs pots. Since I am doing non feminized auto seed only, I only have space for 4 3 gallon pots, and I need to start 8-10 plants to hopefully ensure my 4 females. I might just have to see how much autos really dislike transplanting. I actually really wonder if the anti-transplanting is a myth brought to light by some that don't know how to carefully transplant.
Thanks for the update bud.

I am going to get some and give them a go even though my man J isn't recommending them. Scoring the sides before planting might be the solution too...don't know for sure.

They have worked in the past 912,cutting the sides helps I have even transplanted without those from regular pots didn't know autos don't like it that particular one had no problem glad Ito see ya indoor 912 .
