Well, here we go. After thinking long and hard bout it, I've decided to pull the trigger and start getting things ready for my first grow. Seeds have arrived (autoflower auto pounder) and my equipment has for the most part arrived, just waiting for my lights to get here. I plan on using two 250w hps/md lamps with a 10 5 gallon bucket dwc system. Air is supplied with a 70lpm pump and nutes are power plant grow and bloom. The rockwool is sitting in 5.5ph water I ran through a zerowater filter which brings me down to 3ppm but I'm gonna have to get a ro system cuz this will take forever to fill buckets! My water out of the tap is 376ppm and 8.5ph, omg. So, seeds will be put into conditioned rockwool by the end of the night and put in the humidity dome. I'm hella excited, but trying to keep my shit together and take detailed notes. I'll keep this thread updated as everything progresses. Pics will follow but I do most of my posting on my iPad and uploading is a real in the ass.

Welcome to AFN and the hydro forum Doulovebeef. Not sure you have enough light for 10 buckets, plants gets huge in DWC. A bigger air pump for that many would also be nice. Minimum of 20 lpm per bucket. I put 30 lpm per bucket in mine. I hear ya it's a PITA posting pics from a iPad, but its doable! Good luck with the grow!

I'll tie in another pump to the manifold. 500w is kind of my limit otherwise Ill throw my circuit (15A) and I can't drag an extension cord through the house. Should I run fewer buckets?

I would, what size is your growing space?

I'm thinking 4 buckets, would be ideal under that amount of light. Maybe section off a 4'x4' space.

Oh wow, well it's a start! Less buckets less maintenance for a first grow. As I mentioned my rockwool is soaking, I phd to 5.5, two hours later the water has risen to 7.5. Should I rinse with phd water before planting seeds?

Yep alot less work for sure, maintaining 10 individual buckets would be a real chore. Hmm, that don't sound right. I don't know how it could have raised that high in 2 hours, yeah I would rinse it again. I've never used rock wool thou.

Ah gotcha, still wouldn't hurt to give it a rinse in 5.5
