New Grower Round Two - Continuing The Journey

Thank you for the reply and information miss, lion dung is in short supply my way  but a very clever and efficient deterant ime sure, truly amazing the numbers of varieties and breeders there are when you start to look into it all,I am new to the canna scene and it's quite overwhelming to try and pick ,I looked into that grape crinkle you mention in the start and the site says good for pain so for a beginning I think ille start there I have had a recommendation for dragon seeds also but perhaps not a beginner's type, sorry to hear about your set backs but you haven't given in and that's the spirit that can only make us stronger lol that's from my better half I don't always see the glass half full, but I try .
l look forward to your updates it must be quite exiting and also stressful at first when you start growing.I was always green fingered in the garden so I am hoping the transition to inside and not having that big light in the sky won't be too traumatic:cheers:
I may not be an "experienced" grower like others are here but I'm glad I can pass on any information I know. You can find Lion Dung at your local nursery or online from places like amazon.
There are more breeders than I can imagine, everyone and their mother is in the seed business now. That's why I went for mephisto, they are tried, forum users are getting consistent results.
I may do a grow along with you if you get a grape crinkle and see how they compare. I think I have enough room as long as both don't flower at the same time.
Have you seen the photos of the grape crinkle that @Trapper grew? The photos start on this page. It's those photos that made my mouth water for the crinkle.

Thanks for the link, beforre I joined I have read through some of his grows which are pretty amazing a true grow guru for sure, some of these guys make it look easy but I guess it's all in the planning and experience
I dont know what your thoughts are but some do use a huge array of additives I have already settled on biobizz soil and basic nutes from there range for a start I have read a couple of posts by mephisto that for him less is more for new growers ,thoughI haven't a date for starting yet still need a light but I have settled on getting some grape crinkle so yes would be fun to start one together I am thinking to start a thread even though not ready just to throw out what I am planning and so not to hijack your thread to much

You are welcome. It's a really good grow that's for sure.
I have all of the different nutes/calmag but in fox farm brand, but I'm going organic for the first few grows to make it easier. I figure i'd prefer a lower yield the first few times around so I can learn. I did use Jobe's organic spikes last time and I noticed a difference in growth, but not sure if it was just the stretch or not. I went with the advice of @pop22 for most of my first grow and I still didn't do perfect :P.
I read a really interesting article by Royal Queen Seeds on why you shouldn't use nutes with cannabis grows. Their argument goes along the lines (and I agree with it): you shouldn't need nutrient boosters because your soil should already be adjusted and ready to go already, especially with fast finishers like autos. Here's the link https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/blog-why-you-should-not-use-grow-boosters-or-extra-nutrients-n94
I'll try to take a similar approach to growing the gc as you will be (aka using nutes), and since it'll be the first time for me with nutes, i expect you will beat my behind easily :).
Did you make sure to do a live introduction? If not, you should head over and do that (I didn't look to be honest).
I do not mind the chat and discussion, although you might get more views with a new thread. An education on autos is why im here, and everyone can learn something :)

The hardest thing for me to do here is convince someone new, who grows in soil to ADD NOTHING!!! Good, organic soil NEEDS nothing. I've complete grows with nothing more than a bag of organic soil, no additonal nutrients. But people see these guys and girls using 52 bottles of SPECIAL SECRET SAUCE........... so they run out and buy $300 worth of uselss crap to add to their soil........... and wonder why their entire grow is a disaster...lol! You can't learn to fly a plane by jumping in the cockpit and taking off, you have to spend time learning how first. Same with growing. Start simple, and if you feel the need to get fancy, go for it, once you have and inkling what your doing.

And question everything!! The gardening world is full of myths that can and will hold you back from becoming an good gardener!

It was pretty easy to convince me. Saved me some steps of growing :)
and "52 bottles of SPECIAL SECRET SAUCE" is probably not an under-estimate for some growers out there :)
I agree too that i'd rather start off learning and then progress. We all remember how horrible my first few attempts were. But now, i feel positive about it and have a grasp of watering schedules and such.
as always, @pop22, your knowledge and assistance is always appreciated. So far your suggestions have been spot on.

Glad to see your progress! And we all learn here, its what makes AFN great!

Thank you! and I agree! I would have given up long ago if it wasn't for everyone here!
I'm going to take a photo of the new toof decay. Seems like it's just got slow genetics.... Or I'm impatient.

@pop22 @A-Train @FullDuplex or anyone else, how am i looking for day 8?
