Grow Room Smorf's Micro #2: Nirvana auto blue mystic

From my experience growing in hydro, which is a bit different albeit the same idea, adding silica was one of the best things I did to my grows.. The stalks got thicker, foliage was more firm and stems had a distinct snap.. A lot of times, I would use extra silica to raise my pH if it was on the low end, instead of using something like pH UP or another base.. I never saw ill effects of using full strength silica on autos, as it was one of the few nutes that I could use at that level.. You leaves look similar to a pH shift which could be indicative of a little nute burn.. Then again, I've had some issues with the last couple grows of KS, towards the end the plants seemed to fall on their face and I seemed to have deficiencies regularly.. You could top-dress w/ some EWCs and/or some more KS to see if that helps..

Hey man thanks for checking out the thread i got like 50 notifications:haha:

What are EWCs?

I think the issue here was that she used up all the nutrients in the kindsoil because she was so bushy.
So ive been giving biothrive bloom now and i think shes reacting well, will update tonight.

I will also add an extra half cup of KS to the next grow to make 2.5cups instead of 2, and may run another blue mystic to see how it goes.

I would say that top dressing more KS towards the middle of flower would be good in future grows even before seeing defiecencies but since ive already started using biothrive bloom to pick up the slack in this grow im not sure if i would want to add any now at this point(day 62).

Will update later, hopefully we can see her gettingn fatter by comparing pics from a few days ago, then i will know the biothrive bloom is working.
I can say now i think she is stinking more:smoking:

I gotcha!!! EWC = Earth worm castings.. Some very useful soil amendment that contains some beneficial microbes and some micronutrients that help with growing, especially in organic.. I use it and stand by it, as do many of the guys in the Organic side of things.. Even those who aren't in organic can find it beneficial, so I always keep a bag or 2 on hand.. A bag isn't expensive and a little goes a long way!!!

EWC is good stuff! I mix in in my soil now before planting. Big up powder has been good to supplement the end of a kindsoil grow, big bloom boost. I'm trying to get all organic, still learning but i really like to water only. When i used silica it made a huge difference, good stuff

@GodAmJT @Dudeski
What earth worm castings do you guys use?
In going to look at getting a small bag on amazon.
I will probably mix into my soil before planting too.

Dudeski i am in the same boat trying to stay all organic.

I will read up on the big up powder and what silica do you use and how is it applied?
I dont think the silica i have is all organic, not sure really, its the general hydro silica but it says it needs to be ph adjusted and thats something i dont want to worry about.

Heres pics of the silica i have but have never used. Is there a better kind of silica for all organic grows?

I dont use silica anymore. My ewc came from the "mart", i imagine any is fine. Ewc can be brewed and made into teas. Have you read any of eye on fire threads? I'm still learning but like simplicity. I also got a sample 3 pack of roots/aurora dry ferts.
Foundation, uprising, and bloom. I supplement with them. I put a fair amount of the bloom on top of the kindsoil :smoking:

Im considering ordering their 3 parts and trying to build my own soil as a start.

@Dudeski which eyes on fire thread should i read?

And how would you measure out the big up powder for a 20oz watering or say how much per oz?
I think it would be difficult to measure a powder for this amount because the directions say:

First Application: Add 1/4 tsp per gallon at the very start of bloom to effectively switch your plants into flowering. This will increase your concentration by 150-300 PPM.
Second Application: Add 1/2 tsp per gallon of nutrient solution. This will increase your concentration by 300-400 PPM. Apply with 3 weeks left.
Third Application: Add 1 tsp per gallon of nutrient solution. This will increase your concentration by 500-700 PPM. Apply with 2 weeks left.

I guess i would have to convert tsp to grams and use a scale?
I know it would be alot easier in a bigger grow where you can just mix it up in gallons like it says, but i dont use that much water. The struggles of micro growing lol..

I think for my next grow i will use 2.5 (instead of 2)cups kind soil and roots original on top with dolomite lime and ewc mixed in before planting and then keep using overgrow, recharge and mammoth p and top dress more ewc and kindsoil during flower if needed.
Im interested in the big up powder but the above plan for next grow will be very simple.
:pass:
Will do an update with pics in couple hours.
