So my approach is a bit different as I grow in my basement which even with air scrubbers, I still wash my buds for a bunch of reasons.. Mostly because of allergens as I'm about anaphylactic w/ dust mites and some molds, so just rinsing the buds alone helps, although doing so seems to dry them a little better; more evenly.. Prior to drying, I cut the major stems off the main stalk, pull all the fan leaves and then I wash.. After they are washed, I trim them when they aren't dripping wet anymore, collecting ALL of the trim that is any bit coated w/ trichs.. Then, I bag them all and keep it sealed for 4-5 days as my humidity is controlled in my basement w/ a dehumidifier because I store other things in my basement.. Then, if they feel crispy, they go in the jar for a test 24hr period, and if they're still too sticky, then back in the bag in my upstairs area, since the humidity is a little higher, so it slows the last bit.. Generally, after a week, my buds are in jars and monitored/burped regularly.. After a couple weeks, I'll take a couple buds out and put them in a sandwich bag and throw it in my pocket.. After a half hour or so, I'll pull it out and smell it.. Usually, I can pick up most of the terps then, but the flavor may not be quite on par.. Usually after a month, the buds start to pick up steam w/ flavor and such.. Honestly, I've never had bud more than 3 months, so I can't speak to a seriously-long-term cure, but after 2 months, the buds were pretty tasty!!!!
