The key with LST is not to be too aggressive. Don't bend the stem too far, be gentle and slow when bending it, and if necessary bend it just a little day by day if it's not bending enough. Also, try to plan ahead how you're going to train it. LST will cause it to shoot up additional branches to reach the light, and the trained branches will naturally try to bend upwards and keep growing. If you don't have some idea of where you want to direct the branches, it'll quickly turn into a mess of string and stems crazily growing over and around each other.
Also, once growth gets into full swing during veg, you'll want to keep a close eye on it to adjust and re-train the branches. The plant can put on a ton of growth overnight during this stage, so if you don't watch it the training will be for nothing.
