Has anyone successful used Pro-Mix HP that has been opened and stored for an extended period of time, e.g., 6-18 months? If so, do you have any tips on how best to store it? According to their website, it can be stored un-opened for quite some time, but I'm getting mixed answers about packages that have already been opened and then re-sealed.

Thanks,

It is all about the moisture content. Totally dry soil will kill or make dormant the microbes. If kept moist they mostly live. If it dried out just re-wet and reinoculate it with microbes and fungi.

I'm using some currently that I opened last year. Isn't it basically just peat, perlite and mycorrhizae? Not much to go bad other than fungi in the mix. I use it like peat to mix in with whatever soil I use. Haven't noticed an issues.
