Word up led growers!

My 300 watt led finally showed up, and I'm more than stoked to get this thing rocking. It's crazy bright... My retinas hurt.

Anyways, I have a question..

My plant is at day 51 under 2 250 watt cfls... I only have room for either them, or the led... Would there be any issues with switching now? Or would I be better off waiting until my next round?

Apologies for what's probably a stupid question... I know nothing about led growing, and love diving head first into unknown territory :)

That's a good question...

I think it depends of the spectrum of the CFLs vs. the amount of red in the LED.
Since you're in bloom, I would select the one that delivers the most bloom oriented
spectrum.

But I'm assuming your 300W LED is actually drawing around 180W actual and
only a portion of that is dedicated to bloom spectrum. Which one did you get again?

My 2 cents.

This one.. Nothing special. Very Chinese.

Here's the specs

Red: 630, 660nm, Blue: 425nm, Infrared: 730nm, Ultraviolet: 380nm, White: 12000k

As for my cfl's, I have 1 6400, and 1 2700..

My uneducated brain tells me to switch. But I'm just not sure if such a drastic change will shock her or cause any problems... Probably not.

personally i would switch to led, but take what i say at face value i'm new to the growing scene but loving my led lol.

use both if you can! :grin:if there is not enough room use the led panel has a much wider spectrum"My 2 cents" and more lumens.:goodluck: the sun has the widest spectrum from beginning to end. a lot of people adjust spectrum for veg or bloom, the sun don't!:Sharing One:squeeze the cfl's in"My 2 cents"

It would be sweet to use both... That's what I was hoping to do at first But with the size of my lights, and reflectors and such, I just really don't see it happening... Especially being in a 2.5x2.5 foot space. I'll tinker around a little today and see what I can come up with, but I'm not sure.

(That's what i see every time i say Opi ^_^)

I would say that you could easily accomodate some hanging cfls as side lighting if you wanted to (i've done it in my 2ft x 2ft cab with and LED too) - Just don't bother with the reflecter and hang it vertical lower down to the sides of the plant - see if you can get those lower buds to bulk like the top ones!! :D

Just a thought! :)

Man, I would try like the dickens to get the LED and the 2700 in there.
That would kick some major booty. :)

Well damnit guys. Way to go and twist my arm.

Looks like I have some Jimmy rigging to do. I'll dig out my rope and some 4 week cured think Different and see what I can come up with!

"AFN smoke out"

And Blue: totally not what I had in mind for my username, but it's a badge I'll wear with honor! I miss opi :(

Hell yes!

Mission accomplished sirs. Even managed to keep the reflectors. Turns out I'm a terrible judge of space.
