Hey Muddy. Nice to see you here. I've read tons of your posts and read all your grows. great work. my plants are alive but still cant figure out the issue. i thought i over watered them. (tyical noob mistake). so i let them be for 4 days without spraying any water on them from spray bottle. Yellowing start to turn green again but now leaves are curling up and turning brown at the tips. i have them now in 4 gallon pots with neutral soil. Today I watered them again. I will try to add pics very soon so everyone can see it.

I was stopping in to see how things were going. I hope they are better by the time you read this. But, I think you may have highlighted your problem in the above post. But, I have been warned about giving bad advice.. So just let me say this.. If you have seedlings, they need to be covered under clear plastic (see thru of course) to provide a nice humid a gentle growing environment. In other words, as evaporation escapes the soil and the plant for that matter, the evaporation is then caught in the plastic cover creating a humid environment. There should be no need to spray the little gals. Once they have established a 2nd node, cover comes off.. But even then, you want to watch when and how much you spray tour plants with pure ph-ed water. If you decide to spray them off, then it should be just before lights out. ( I like to turn my air purifier off at that time as well).. It's winter time and things are dry Dry DRy DRY!! So a light spray down once every week helps in my retarded opinion.. You just have to be careful how you do it. Water acts like an intensifier for light.. Ya know from grade school? Rainbows and all that jazz...

Welcome to AFN. Everyone here has been great and I have learned but am still learning. I just got through killing a grow because of soil issues. Everything you may know about photos will just get you in trouble with autos. Be careful about over watering, or just keeping the surface wet. It will be several days or even a week between waterings when the girls are new. Feel the weight of the pots when dry and don't water again until they feel that way. Make the roots go down for water and keep your fans on to help the stems get strong. A ph meter is a must but a cheap liquid test kit will be better than nothing. Are you areating your water? A 5gal fish tank pump is only about $10 at a pet store and really makes a diff. If you use a soil with starter nutes (promix) you don't have to fert for two or three weeks. I know it's hard to do nothing but sometimes thats' best. Good luck.

auto-p... your soil ph might b a mite out from overwatering... or you could have the nutes a bit too hot... I'm not familiar with the soil conditions on your grow...

theres definetly a key "mositure level" for seedlings and mature plants... especially seedlings...

moist... not wet.... :toke:

@Alley walker... not too bad advice there... I would caution on spraying right before lights out... as sitting water, on plants, or in any environment... breeds mold and bacteria..

I like to make sure they are dry (on the leaves and stems) before lights out... as evaporation goes down pretty significantly when its lights out. :2cents:

hey Alley, my seedlings are doing better than last time at least. As you said earlier and "its weed. it wants to grow". lol. i think thats so true. 3 out out 5 babies are recovering better. the 2 that aren't in best shape aren't that bad I believe. their leaf edges are pale yellow and brown but still soft, so they are not falling off when i touch them, they're just lacking chlorophyll and green color i think. oh well i still think they will survive. I also forgot to mention that they were under 24 hrs of light but yesterday i switched to 20/4 and the leaves on them lil girls became wider in like 4 hrs. hopefully this morning i will see a good change and for better or for worse i'll post pics again.

hey gent, thanks for stopping by. yesssssssss a ph meter is next on my list. these lil things make tons of difference i believe. and as a noob its so hard to not do anything and leave those damn plants be. lol. but im trying to resist temptations and leaving them alone for now. i do have the ferts but Im not even going to experiment on them yet as they are only 10 days young. i will definitely grab a ph meter soon.
