Well im starting up a afghan skunk by advanced seeds now so ill wait two weeks for it to grow before nutes go into it

That is not sound advice. You will starve those seedlings to death. That is why expert coco growers like myself, precharge coco when reconstituting it from a dry block.
You should be starting in the pot it finishes in. Those root plug are no good for soil and coco. I have seen them stunt when used in both mediums. They are what i use for deep water culture. You should start with a 400-500 range for coco. The ph of 5.8 is good for coco, you might want to go a little lower. Coco ph buffers to 6.8, so maybe 5.5 to be exact. I start with a 700, but my tap water is a 440 or something insane.
700-800 for strong vegetative growth and 1100-1200 for full bloom. Those levels have worked for me time after time. I do not make different solutions for different strains anymore. Nothing burns or shows weak development. If you are using reverse osmosis water, or soft water under 100 tds, subtract 200 from each number and you will be on your way. Do make sure to allow about 15% run off each time you water after the first month. Coco can build up toxic levels of nutrient salts quickly.

So far i dont like those starter plugs. They're made of some spongey material and ive always thought since its not made of coco i shouldent be feeding it 5.8 ph water. Two diffrent materials or something. Seems like confusion and trouble.

Hal if you dont mind can you lead me through from germ to finish? You seem very knowledgeable on coco and all. Im going through to many contradictions. Your answers seem copisetic.

Those root plugs are made from the cellulose of tree bark. They have a different water tension and holding rates. It causes a confusion for the plant and can fully stall growth. Do not use them with coco. Even if you are having success it would be greater without.
You must feed coco constantly. It has no nutrients, and you can not add worm casting or anything. It will cause mold and fungus issues. Pure coco is a pure hydro technique. I recommend three gallon grow pots for autos or photos. When I used five gallons the roots never locked up all of the coco, and I had issues with it taking too long to dry between waterings. You should not water heavy enough for run off until the first month of growth is over. You can have issues with over watering and fungus, then fungus gnats. They love coco.
You want the roots to fully colonize and lock up all the coco. It will allow the water to use the whole pots nutrients and water in a day. That will use 1-2 gallons of nutrients a day. Big girls and potent smoke will follow. Use some sort of mycos beneficial inoculate fungi. I like Great White and Myke's, but any fresh one will do fine.
