I would try with some bag seed first ..just cuz i know id F it up and waste money lol..DWC seems Harder to get perfect to me..Ill be watching maybe u will show me LOL K.I.S.S...WHats new?
Hey man, really appreciate you checkin in! You might be right with the DWC being complicated haha... I will find out. I am not 100% sure but I think my Trans Siberian is looking a lot better... (pics soon)
I am still trying to find a method that feels somewhat intuitive. Hand watering methods I just don't think I can do. I started with Hempies and did OKish with them, but I think I was overwatering a lot... I have done smart pots with soiless mixes a number of times, including this last attempt with coco, but it's so humid in here I just felt like they never dry out. Yields were depressing and fluffy, never dense, tiny buds x__x
I am partly trying DWC because it's the one method where I don't think I can overwater lol... I can do a number of other things wrong, but not that one, and it's the one I mess up every time.
That logic might be insane, but I am gonna go for it and see how it goes haha ;D
Thanks again man for stopping by!
hey don't feel so bad.i was worse than you for about a year.dropping 1 seed at a time every month.was ready to pack it all in.runted little things time after time,i thought I was getting somewhere where one of my plants looked good X3 times taller than anything id grown before.with side branches, something I rarely saw.but after letting it go for 7 weeks it turned out to be neither male or female wtf !
after a lot of changes im now happy with my grows nearly 2 years on thanks to AFN
maybe try soil ?
chin up eh !
Thanks man! I am glad to know I am not the only one who thought about quitting lol :\ I am trying to avoid any method that can involve over watering... I may try soil one day though. Enough of you guys have recommended it that I'm taking it seriously, but for this grow I am gonna stick to dwc ;D
Thanks again for stopping by!
Yeah dude positive mental attitude! Well done on not giving up so far, there is so many knowledgeble growers here on AFN that love helping new growers that you can be sure your lucks about to turn!
Thanks dude! I am hoping so ;D
Hey and Welcome!
Ya, just don't think you have the sh**ty grower market cornered! I am right down the block working hard on it myself!!
I would at least start a journal if you haven't yet. That is what helps me to not repeat and to keep track of what I am doing. I was surprised how much that helped. Just keep going at it and ask ask ask anything you may need or want to know!!
Peace and Happy Growing.
Hahaha, I am glad I don't have the market cornered. Sometimes seeing everyone elses insane yields make me sure I am the only one chopping embarrasing plants...
I was actually planning on using this post as a journal for the 3 plants in the title, but the title isn't exactly clear lol x___x
Thanks again for the encouragement!
In a two gallon bucket, you will need to be ready to swap your nutes every 3-4 days No Longer!
Using a five gallon bucket most users will need to swap out nutes every 7-10 days.... so be ready,
More volume = more buffer
Less volume = less buffer
I check them twice a day or so, but wasn't fully switching them out except once a week x_x... I will start changing them out more frequently.. Thanks man!
I am in the same boat. I have been making a few mistakes myself but the good people here at AFN got your back. They have helped and encouraged me along the way in my grow. Best of luck! I am sending good karma your way
Thanks Joshua, I am checking out your journal now! Not sure what it means to sub, but I will try and figure it out

I think sometimes newbies try to bite off more than they can chew. It is easy to get all caught up in the nice setups and great results of some of the more experienced growers here at AFN. These guys have been doing this for awhile and if you are not already at least somewhat educated in plant science, starting off with these systems almost always leads to dissatisfaction. Start off with a simple soil grow with some easy nutrients such as Algoflash. Get to know your system, how your plants react to your environment, what strains work best for you. Try to learn from every mistake and write down what you learned after each grow. When you are getting consistantly good results, then move up the ladder with equipment upgrades, new systems, etc. then start learning again.
Im not saying anybody is doing it wrong, this is just my general opinion.
Hey HM, thanks for stopping by.
I agree with a more iterative approach. If I had stuck with what I planned on my first grow things would have gone a lot better. Instead I ended up switching out my T5 for an LED and all sorts of confusion. Since then I have sort of figured these LED's out (maybe lol...), but I think I would have gotten a lot more consistent yields if I had stuck with my original grow room plan and then upgraded when it was more or less maxed out.
