New Grower Worst-grower-ever tries Trans Siberian, Afghan Kush Ryder, and Northern Lights Blue Auto ;D

Trans Siberian 32 days from seed now. With some advice from Grey Bear I decided not to throw her out...

I was going to throw her out because her roots went from this:





to this, in just one day:



After some advice from grey bear, I cleaned her bucket out real good with a tiny bit of bleach and refreshed the rez, then rinsed out the roots.

A day later she looks like this:



More root mass and less brown, so I think she is OK.

I also noticed that my voodoo juice prematurely expired on me. I smelled it, and it stunk horribly. It was about 3 months from expiry so I threw it out. What pisses me off, is that amazon has been selling me AN nutes that expire in 6 months! These mother fu.... anyways, AN is expensive enough without getting old nutes |:

So I stopped the voodoo juice (in all my plants, also cleaned the other 2 plants rez from start to finish with bleach as well in case the contaminant was in the expired VJ), and just used aqua shield, tarantula, pirhana and sensizym. I have been reading the labels on these bacterias/fungi and I noticed kangaroots actually has a lot of what is in voodoo juice AND tarantula AND pirahana... It's like a cheap 3 in 1 almost. If I had a working PH meter I would sub in the kangaroots for the AN bacterias, but I can't trust that the PH perfect would work on a fox farm product and I am really banking on the PH perfect to work.


Anyways...


So here she is, looking OK. Really good growth pattern, I have hardly had to train her at all , the branches grow upward almost automatically. I still feel like she could die at any minute because I have no idea what I am doing in DWC, but here she is:

I also think one major reason she got better is going back from DWC to RDWC. I thought the pump that was recircing the water was adding too much heat, but I really think the issue was that these dwc buckets work better with something constantly getting oxygenated water up to the top of the main root mass. I could be wrong, but she is doing better, and I think that is partly why.

Quick update...

So I killed the Northern Lights Blue auto x_x Dropped a light on it....

Anyways... I made the best of it by upgrading my trans siberian from a 2 gallon dwc to a 5 gal dwc and put her in the main cab.

Still waiting on my topled to replace the one that is in there now.

The AKR is growing pretty fast, but mutated and wrinkly...

Leaves are a good green, she seems healthy, but I hope she outgrows the weird leafs.

So I got my new LED from topled, and man... it is like a work of art compared to my old light o_o

The construction of it, is great, and man did they pack a lot of LEDs into a tiny light...

However, along with it came a calcium deficiency. I think this is pretty standard problem with LEDs.. my old one didn't have this problem because it didn't put out enough light to do anything lolol...

The leave Look pretty text book, rust colored spots, sort of mosaic.

The pictures are annoyingly pink :\, but here is some leafs that show more or less what it looks like:

She is still growing pretty nicely, so I'm not going to flush the solution since it's fairly fresh, and going to add some cal mag to the solution that is currently in the bucket (of course not while her roots are in there ;D).

And lastly, here is a shot of AKR progress ;o Everything there is going OK other than she is already getting too big for her 1x1 chamber lolol :{{ Always need more space...

Mmmm that AKR lookin cool down in that tube of doom lol. Could ya post a pic or two of your new led? I always like to see non-ebay, user pics of items haha. As for that deficiency, I'm not entirely sure that's the led cal-mag def, it looks like other def pics I had seen along the way, but I should shut up and let a pro advise better lol

haha yeah, it's pretty much a tube of doom... she might be stuck in there lol x_x This trans siberian is taking her time, I don't think there is any way she will finish in the next month when that AKR outgrows that coffin, but I guess I will cross that bridge when I get there.

I am pretty sure it's cal mag deficiency, but I could be wrong. I don't think it would indicate anything wrong with the LED, based on what I read on a sticky in the LED forum. The leaf I showed really wasn't the best example (it was just the only one I could get a pic of), but she has tiny patches of rust colored spots here and there on some of the newer growth and it really looks like all the cal mag def pics on the net.

I am going to start adding in GH calimagic since I have tested that with the AN PH perfect before and everything stayed within range.

Worst grower ever far from it! Your doing a great job and they seem to be coming along great. I think you have this one in the bag

That's a cool looking led, simple and effective. It looks almost exactly like the one I got, listed as a "Pioneer pro medical" bla bla on ebay. I was also suprised how tightly they crammed the the leds.

Anyways, as for the AKR, I think its safe to keep in there. It'll get cramped width-wise, but will just force it to grow upward more. When it blooms later, it might need a bit of defoilation or leaf stuffing to ensure light to the bud sites.
