New Grower Worst-grower-ever tries Trans Siberian, Afghan Kush Ryder, and Northern Lights Blue Auto ;D

Hi,

It's been about 2 weeks since last update, due to being busy x_x. Been taking OK care of the plants though, and I think they are doing OK.

They both started flowering about 2 days after my last complaint about the TS not flowering.

So then flowering started, on what was day 55 for the TS and day 30 for the AKR.

Sooooooo a pretty awesome stroke of fuckin luck there! They both started flowering at same time so I am less likely to fuck up and feed one veg nutes or visa versa.

Also... holy shit on the diff in length of veg stage in these 2 plants. The TS waited a whole 25 additional days of veg, at least part due to me being terrible.

So here is the Afghan Kush Ryder, she busted out of the bucket (she was so sweaty in there it was absurd, I feel like it's a terrible idea really at this point), she doubled in size since last time I posted:

day 35 akr_day35.jpg

day 38 akr_curtain_day38.jpgakr_day38.jpgakr_out1_day38.jpgakr_out2_day38.jpgakr_out3_day38.jpg

day 42akr_day42.jpg

The AKR is truly a beast. I checked the PPM in her bucket the morning of a total bucket change a week ago, and it was up to 1600 PPM... lol.... as far as I can tell she has no nute burn, but that was obviously unintentional (I never meant to exceed 800). She is a little bleached/light burned on the very top, but even those insane ppm she didn't burn (I dont't think). I really limit the amount of nitrogen in my mix because I have nitro toxed so hard before, so maybe that is why shy didn't get incinerated at 1600 PPM.... dunno... Anyways..

And here is the gnarly beast of a plant, the Trans Siberian... Her root issues have cleared up at this point. I am only using voodoo juice, no more aqua shield, no more tarantula, no more pirhana. Straight VJ seems to do the trick. Still using Sensizym, and now big bud... also a lot of cal mag... (CAliMAgic) and a tiny bit of bud candy to feed the voodoo juice, though I think that is probably unnecessary honestly lol :\

day 67 ts2_day67.jpgts1_day67.jpgts3_day67.jpg

The TS really seems... slower than the AKR. Maybe still doing OK, not sure what is up with all that burn. I am pretty sure I have put a stop to it by increasing the airflow up through the canopy (the whole plant shakes lightly), but god damn she looks like she has been through hell.... kind of has for real... she has had a hard couple months of a life....

Thanks for stopping by, and good luck on your grows!

To be the worst grower ever you sure grew some great plants..:Sharing One:

Another pic update of the plants.

The tables have turned between the two plants, and the TS is now doing great, and the AKR is sort of fizzling out... largely due to my ineptitude as a gardener.

I managed to nute burn her pretty hard I think... I had never really seen nutrient burn that started from the centerish of the leaves and then made it's way out, I always saw it start at the tips with the yellowing. Anyways, it's real weird, but some of the flower sites, and leaves nearby got bright yellow in the center and the outside stayed green... (for a while, then died :\)

Anyways, I managed to fuck her up, and I think it could not have come at a worse time. If you look at her now, you can see she isn't throwing out many new white pistols x_x like 80% of the pistols on the very tops are orange already (though most the damage from the burn is at the top).

She also has wicked light burn like the TS. I had to remove a bunch of scorched leaves that easily came right off.

These pics are a few days old now, she has a bit more orange pistils now :\ She was doing so good too! Pretty much problem free all the way until like day 45 x_x I don't expect more than about 14g by the looks of her at this point.

Here is the AKR at day 55

On the other hand, here is the TS at day83. Other than being a bit behind schedule, she is actually looking pretty good... I had to prune away many burnt leaves (easily picked right off), but she seems to be doing OK:

Whoaa man, lol! That poor AKR haha, well, at least it's kinda alive lol.

Yikes, The AKR did get scortched, but don't kill her yet.
Dial her back for a week, she will take that long to bounce back but I would not try taking her this early.
I have seen LOTS of ugly plants yield fine, just leave what leaves have more than 30% green.
Some may disagree, but with as bushy as it was and as much as is burnt, I would remove any leaves with less than 30% green.
The reason being, that much dead matter in your small space is an invitation to pests or disease.

The TD is looking fine, I have grown several, they all were above average producers.

Hey Grey Bear ;D

Thanks for the reply as usual good info!

That second one is actually a Trans Siberian (TS) not a TD (Think Different).

I am loving the TS though.... it's the only one that just bounces back. I feel like the TS doesn't punish mistakes the same way as other autos. It slows down for a while but it seems to put the plant life cycle timer "on pause" if you will... allowing itself time to heal before getting back on schedule. The AKR I think just tried to sprint right through the nute/leaf burn... I will prune up the deadish leaves like you said. I have been grabbing a few a day trying not to take too many at once.

Thanks again for stopping by!

Grey Bear... I concur! I've done exactly what he's described a few times. You'd be surprised how hardy these ol girls are!

Coincidentally, I accidentally beheaded my last trans Siberian when I tried adjusting the lights with her still under them.... Dumb ass move lol Trans Siberian is a great strain! One of my favorites and easy to grow. Thick Christmas tree shaped buds... Long and conical...

I also agree with faded... You need to change your thread title! Keep up the good work! Live, love, and grow my friend!

Duuuuuude! It's awesome to meet someone who has also grown a TS! This is only my second one ever, but so far it is my favorite to grow. It's one of very few strains that have survived me lol x_x

Last time I grew the TS I started her in a pc case and she stayed in there until she was done changing shape. Numerous times the temps were in the 100+F, humidity in single digits.

I came home sometimes and she would be fallen over from heat stroke, totally dried out. After ALL THAT she still yielded a full ounce of potent buds. The taste and smell were almost non existent... which I was OK with considering all the abuse lol. The high was great though.

I am curious however, when grown out under better circumstances what is the taste/high like?

I have not seen any smoke reports on Trans Siberian, so I am most curious :)))

Thanks a bunch for stopping by!

I am notoriously bad for smoke reports lol I need to do a butt load on forum! When I get my net back up I'll show you pics of my past TS! She is a mild tasting strain for sure. Hard to describe. Slightly fruity diesel/skunk? Very keify! Almost like smoking hash. She always did right by me! I need another pack... Lol

Yes she is most definitely strong and resilient! Takes a beating and still produces!

So I am seeing something I don't like on the Trans Siberian, and I can't figure out what it is...

Some of her leaves were getting dark dark green so I backed off on the nutes a little.

Now a few of the tiny "sweet leaves" are yellow and have brownish spots... They also seem to be clawing at the same time.

I can't tell if she is over fed or under fed... I would guess underfed...

I took her ppm down to about 500 as of Sunday, down from about 800... again, because some of the leaves were getting dark green.

What do you guys think?
