7 day old seedling yellowing and slow growth?

Thanks everyone for the advice it's greatly appreciated and sorry if I come across as a time waster just confused as everyone has different theories and being a first time grower my first point of call is you guys...I will take on board what you said and correct PH with light feed then il update you guys in couple days with my progress cheers

yellowing leaves and cotyledons you advise dont sweat it so here is your slap 100 rep for bad info :slap:

Anything bad in it than confusing coco as soil without nutes instead of more technical term soilless media?

Do not worry bro. We are all in awe of your expert opinions here. Thank you so much for being so nice and respecful toward your community.

Gentleman, enough with the playground antics here. Let's get the correct information here and help the original poster, because that's the person who suffers with these kind of games.

MedGrower, don't feed the trolls (you know better.) You're on thin ice right now for a temp ban yourself, so just chill bud. Enjoy the day, it's going to be a good one!

:smoking: Ibz-- sorry for the flamer mate, I didn't get here in time, but I see others did!
...so, coco, a rather specialized medium, not an easy learning curve to grow in, but once dialed, it's excellent... as you've read, your pH is likely the culprit here,.. coco should be in the upper 5's; in a way, it's much like hydro, for pH and nutrient management... Also, coco has peculiar cation exchange capacity characteristics, with Ca in particular, and Mg and K to a lesser extent,.. have you done your homework on coco? Biggest, most common mistake I see, is peep's treating it like soil, or even something like Promix-- soilless,... (that's peat based),... this means unless you have dedicated coco nutes, you'll need to add extra ca-mg every time you water... it's fairly complex and lengthy explanation behind this, so research if you haven't.. in a nutshell, coco is a Ca hog, and will bond it to it's particles and hoard it until sated, keeping it from the plant until so,... maintaining the ion balance in there for proper nutrient availability is the key,... alas, I can only offer you what I've read and learned, since I've not grown in coco yet, save one mini-pot! but Duggy, Arty and med here have set you right with the steps to take for correction,... I also recommend a root tonic, like Superthrive, Jump Start, that sort of root stimulator and shock treatment,...

Thanks waira I have done research on coco but was careless with PH which I have learnt is the most important thing and I'm following Lucas formula for coco using GH micro bloom with canna cal mag I will start including calmag next feed...rhizo tonic and a humidifier are on my shopping list!
Also got another seed ready for germ just incase as I think I just may have packed my coco abit tight in this current pot ahh first time noob mistakes I guess experience is the best teacher but thanks for the info I will definitely be taking on board pal [emoji1417]

I agree with duggy!

I'm in coco and I started 5.8 but my EC was a tiny bit higher @ EC1.1

I am currently doing a micro grow (check my sig) and wanted to keep the plant tiny in that space.

I didn't feed until day 13 normally I would do this @ day 7 but I wanted to keep it small and not give it too much Nitrogen in the early stages , which feeds lush green growth.

The cotyledons have sufficient nutrient to supply the seedling easily for the first 7 days and my plant didn't show N def until day 13 which is when I started feeding and foiliar feeding to green her back up.

She did green back up quick time and no harm to the plant.

People give advice to help one another but it still remains your responsibility to do research to satisfy your self that it is the right course of action to follow.

What is the difference between nutes designed for coco compared to soil?
To me it seems more cumbersome growing i a medium where you have to adjust both pH and ion stenght. I feed large amouts of minerals, i.e. 5-10 g epsom salt.

I want to try coco, but then I need to buy new base nutes. But before i consinder purchasing anything, I need to learn.

Soil acts as a buffer to nutrient solutions so is a little more forgiving than hydro or coco (which is technically a type of hydro).
However you can still over feed in soil and get salt build up.

Because coco/hydro doesn't have any buffering ability the nute strength is critically important to get right.
Give your plants too much and it will harm your girls.

As Waria metioned Coco is a Calcium hog, the calcium is locked up by the Coco so Coco formulas account for this, they may also have higher levels of Magnesium too but it is always advisable to have a bottle of "CalMag" on hand just in case.

Chemical nutrients are made from chemical salts and come in liquid form or salt form, they are highly concentrated and need to be accurately measured at the correct sloution strength using PPM(scale dependent, see chart below) TDS or EC

Organic nutrients are made from organic compounds such as mollases, seaweed, fish emulsion (the list goes on) ,an EC meter has fewer applications for growers because many organic nutrients are not electrically charged or are inert.

Things like Superthrive or Fish Emulsion, blood meal, rock phosphate or green sand cannot be measured with a meter reliably when they are applied or in runoff. Meters can only measure electrically charged salts in solution.

People do grow in coco with organics but it is not something I have tried yet.

Once you get the hang of it growing in coco is a great way to grow.

If you want to grow in coco best thing to do is have a look at the Coco section here @ AFN - https://www.autoflower.org/forums/coco.244/

Read up as much as you can and do your homework, there is nothing like passion and desire to aid learning.

:greenthumb: sounds good ibz! ....:toke: And thank for helping on this too Arty, Duggy... gotta try the coco-nut thing sometime, likely with Autopots if I can!

... Dr. B', be careful with using epsoms all the time, it is a salt after all, MgSO4, and build-up can be an issue over time,...
