Me and my growing partner "Tom" Have been talking about starting a budget grow, so we decided to build a "True Budget Grow Room"

The Goal: Build for less than $50

While going though the things we needed, i decided to build our grow light, and wanted to share what I had done.

There are a total of 3 100W Daylight Cool light Bulbs, 3 100W Daylight Warm light bulbs

The whole setup cost less than $25 at Home Depot.Parts and cost are as follows.

1 floodlight enclosure box w/o = $4.00
7 flood light fixtures= 7.00
4 pack cool light CFL bulbs= 4.99
4 Pack warm light CFL Bulbs= 4.99

The one in the middle is a 100W 10% UVB Spectrum reptile Vision light which I already had.

I will be adding 4 light splitters after bloom begins, with 4 more bulbs, 2 warm, and 2 cool.I will post pics as we progress.

I got the splitters on Ebay for 1.00 each

The Mylar is a space blanket from walmart. $1.98

This setup runs 161 actual watts, 11,200 lumen, and costs about $14 a year to run.

Thoughts?? comments??

Cool setup. Im actually in the middle of makeing alittle cfl cubby as well. 13 watt bulbs here are like 7 bucks lol. Bought 2 of the 40 something watt 2700k bulbs for 10 bucks each and im sure ill be adding some littleones too. Im scrounging sockets outa old lamps and throwing them away lol.

Thats awesome, like i always say, Waste is a byproduct of unimaginitive people. the good thing is that CFLs are getting cheaper, if the environmental movement has been good for anything, its definitely that.

Excellent Organic M. Many will appreciate your budget grow design.

Cheers

Make sure you have plenty of ventilation, it's gonna get hot with all those cfls running. Looks cool tho, good work man

It's been good so far, but I do have temperature fail-safes. Thanks for the input though. Every little thing matters.

That's for sure. I'm thinking about doing the sane type of setup for clones and veg, cheaper than a t5 and it's nice being able to mix a few uvb bulbs into the mix.

I use a 10% UVB bulb that is geared towards vision for reptiles. This allows me to run it all the time, and i just keep it in the middle socket. I find that a constant UVB light, and some raw sugar and some unsulfured molasses at the end of the grow seems to increase my THC content by 4 or 5%. i wouldn't suggest running a full uvb for more than a couple hours a day. but this setup works quite well for me, and i have little to complain about come harvest time.

This is the 10% UVB bulb I am using.
