Hey AFN, call me L. I'm from a country in Asia and am about to start my first indoor growing or first serious cannabis grow.
What I am planning to grow are two strains from Bomb and Big Buddha. I am going to be growing 6 plants (3 of each strain) in the following set up:
Growing space:
1m x 1m x 2m Grow tent
Lights:
600w HPS + Two Mars Hydro 300w LEDs << Is that overkill for my space?
Ventilation:
A Carbon filter with a 4" ventilator
A small fan
Nutes:
Fox Farm Trio (Big Bloom, Tiger, etc.)
Soil:
Probably some time of organic soil that I can find.

As a first time grower, I have been wondering on how and when I should feed the plants because I have read that I should use 1/4 strength of the nutes for autos than recommended, many other forums say otherwise so it'd help if anybody could guide me in that.

I would greatly appreciate your advice!

Hi L...I doubt six plants will fit into that size of tent (assuming the 2m is the height, you have just a square metre to work with). Even four might be a squeeze.

I'd also be concerned by the heat generated by a 600W HPS, especially as your ambient temperature is likely to be high. I would go with the two LEDs.

I like to add a kilo bag of worm castings to each pot for added N and micro-nutrients. You should also add coco coir or perlite (if available) to allow the roots to develop more. Maybe 20% of total volume.

You shouldn't need to worry about starting nutes until at least two weeks . I would start off with 1/4 strength, then gradually increase that while monitoring the tips of the leaves. Any nute burn on the tips of the leaves will indicate how much the plants can take.

We were talking about pH in our PM conversation:

If you have the funds ($50 or so), a soil pH tester is a great investment:

What kind of temps and humidity will you be dealing with?
