Lighting Advantages to 24/0 light cycle for Auto's

How much does the temperature dip in the dark time at your grow room? I guess 2 hours aren't enough to completely cool the grow room down but you get some cooling time and also save a bit of electricity!

About 10 to 15 degrees.

I like 18/6, plants need rest and sleep too IMO:group:.

It's my opinion but I think 18-6 or 20-4 also is best for autos. My plants were on 24-0 for their first 6 weeks due to timer being broken but when I fixed it they really seemed to take off.

Lovely subject!

Lets get scientifically technical!

Cannabis has a biorhythm cycle of 21-27 hours - in this 21-27 hours it requires a sleep-mode

Every 21-27 hours regardless of light cycle - your plant will switch off for roughly 4 hours and stop photosynthesising and start sending excess sugars/food down to the roots

So 24/0 is a waste of electricity :)

20/4 has been shown to be best from experiments

Also just to add - if you are maintaining a 24/0 light cycle due to heat issues this will have no adverse affect - its only excess light that isnt needed or even better used

Haha - can you imagine sleeping your whole life with the light on? cant be nice lol

Running 24/0 always stressed my plants and gave me false signs of deficiencies

Now i'm running 20/4 and plants are 100% better

I was just thinking that my plants look much better since I went to 18/6 they are not showing the deficiency signs either.

I'm running 24-0 on day 50 and am growing 2 very healthy monster plants. 1 think different and 1 automazar. I was on 20-4. I have found since switching to 24-0 my plants no longer stretch, the branches are loaded with flowering points 1-2 inch apart, also had no deficiencies whatsoever. I'm feeding my plant 1ml per litre of biobizz grow and 3ml per litre of bloom, that will be rising to 4ml per litre of bloom soon too. Giving them plenty in their feeds to cope with the 24-0. Things never looked so good!!! :-)
