I was able to find a site, bitcoininsanity.com-out of Michigan, who sold me $25 in bc- or a nickle in bitcoin.. lolol They say the transaction will take between 2-12 hours. This is a fascinating journey.. just have to say!

Just finished syncing, and got an immediate notification! Question: Is the transaction that you made traceable? It says "from: unknown", so it made me wonder... And, Groff, Thank you, yet again! Once I get my bitcoin, I'm going to exchange it for potcoin, and forward to AFN

Yes you can. But not exactly who, but which address. Remember this is a public ledger.

Introducing the Block Explorer!

With this tool you can search the blockchain to track every transaction ever made in the Potcoin history, since day 1.

The block explorer is a website running the Blockchain that retrieves info from it. It shows all the transactions and addresses. In the case of Potcoin you can find it here

In the search field you can introduce a specific address and see all the transaction from it, or any given block in the blockchain history, or specific transaction details. In the Transactions Tab in the QT, you can right click any given tx and see the details, see the transaction ID (as seens in the first pic), copy it and paste it in the Block Explorer and see how the funds were moved.

So there you can see it was my address containing 3860.74335866, sent 100 POTS to you, and got back 3760.74335866.

That is the whole point of the blockchain. There is no real balance. In crypto's you don't subtract from a balance. That is why the system can NEVER be rigged like in traditional banking.

If you have 10 and send me 1, you send yourself back 9 change through a return address.This is done automatically by the software. Then if I send AFN 0.6 POTS, I get back 0.4 POTS, and so on until infinity. So, all tx can be traced back to the very first. Anyone that knows AFN's address can look back that 0.4 tx through the addresses used, and then back to the original address.

So if you want anonymity, you must move coins to a brand new address that you are sure is unlinked to any previous or future activity. A "burner" address lets say, and be absolutely sure the identity of that new address in never revealed.
