What do you mean "combine more than 1 address" ?

Potcoin blockchain is about 700mb right now. IF you're worried about bandwidth, you can use a centralized solution (web wallet where you register to - potwallet.com), use Potcoin Electrum Light Wallet (wallet without blockchain), or use centralized mobile HTML 5 wallet (not native app at this moment)

I can send you POTs and you will see the transaction go in into your transactions list if you have your wallet open at the time I send that transaction. But these will only be confirmed 6 blocks from the moment I send. You only have control the funds after the 6 confirmations. So yes, only when you've donwlaoded the blockchain will you see then as confirmed in your wallet.

This becomes more obvious after say 6 months of use and re-download the blockchain (for some reason). You will literally see a "fast forward" version of all your all transaction happen in perfect order as the blockchain arrives to your hard drive.

I believe all of your receive addresses are just "sub-accounts" in your unique wallet, so all of them together equal your wallet.
I think you just need your potcoin/bitcoin/etc receive address and password to rebuild a new wallet, methinks. Like, I go to Swaziland and buy a new laptop, download the wallet software, put in my receive address and password, let it sync, and boom- coin is restored.
And, it took about 4.5 hours for my sync to complete.
HOpe those are correct answers. Forgive me, if I err.. Groff will set us straight

Ok, reading about this is VERY WEIRD... but once you start using it makes perfect sense. I'll do my best.

... it goes like this. Your wallet.dat is a file that contains all the information in your wallet. The wallet software (the QT) reads the "wallet.dat". Like Word and *.doc ... two different things. Word is the "engine", *.doc if the actual file with the information.

Your wallet.dat contains all the addresses.

Each address = one public key + one private key (like a bank safe storage box. Your ID = public, the key to open the safe deposit = private) -> You give out the public address to anyone to send you funds (public key), but only whoever owns the private key can spend those funds from that address.

Like your email address (public and give out) + email password to read all your emails sent/received (private)

So your wallet is a collection of addresses. Your wallet.dat can be copied, so best to password protect it. This is a regular password you create and is user friendly.


If you copy the wallet.dat to a pen drive and travel around the planet, as long as you know the password to it, you can use the funds from all the addresses contained in it.

Alternatively, you can take 1 specific address + its individual private key, and open.

You cannot take 1 specific address + global wallet password and retrieve the entire wallet, or that specific address's funds. Two different concepts

So to keep things simple for now, imagine your wallet.dat as being like an "excel sheet" that keeps all your individual addresses. You can take that excel sheet and open it with another computer if you want.
