My username began around 1993-1995, when I went to a coat store, and I have stumbled upon a basket full of stuffed animals. I saw a yellow colored stuffed bird, which in my opinion, looks like a duck (Picture in my avatar, just took it, and added it today). I immediately named him Ducky, at a young age there would be no other better name. His eyes are a bit white, because the black ink always rubs off when I used to play with him. Now that he's 21 years old, I let him sit around and just hang out. The "098" came up when I used to play as secret agents (instead of army), that we each have an identity code. My friend gave it to me, and I have kept both, and put them together ever since.

Thanks IdontSmoke for creating a thread like this. I never thought to make one, but I always wanted to share my story on how I got my username.

My name was because, 2 reasons, the frowned upon shiners of the moon and when I smoke I get high as the moon. The spelling is because I hit the o too many times lol. My profile pic is because I love my Johnny Cash, John Wayne, old school stuff the good stuff.

Wow! I like it, and great post!

And yet another audiophool here, my name would have to be NPass or Papa as he is called. That would be for all the Nelson Pass gear I have or still have to be built. Amp Camp, B-1, F5, F5 Turbo, Aleph J, Bride of Zen....

I was a fan of the Unix/Linux operating system as I was a long time Network IT engineer / Manager. So the Linux tux logo (Penguin) was my avatar. Then it morphed into the Banksy style avatar I have now, and as I am on-line, I am an ePenguin.

I love Banksy, stops you in your tracks and makes you think!

I grew up on a farm. We grew lots of tobacco, corn, and raised beef cattle. Had a nice vegetable garden behind the house too which i miss. I worked the fields for years once i was old enough, never minded getting my hands dirty! Left the farm for college and moved away from my small town to a large city in an urban environment..........The name was born. Even tho these days i still farm..........indoors "Bailers Booya"

:Sharing One: love the stories guys, i feel like im getting to know you guys all over again!

I have been going by some variant of "Fluke" for 10+ years now. I rarely get the plain ol' Fluke unless the forum or community is very small, so usually I have to add stuff, numbers mostly.

I took a liking to the word fluke because it seems that everything positive that happens to me happens because of some weird stroke of luck, totally out of the blue. My life seems governed by flukes. Hell, even my existence is a fluke..!
After the birth of my brother my mom was told she would not be able to have any more children, but nearly 10 years later I came along and surprised them all..

After so many years Fluke feels more like a second identity, rather than just some random username.. :)
