The CXB3590 are great chips I was wondering what Kelvin you use for your lights and are there any new COBs coming to market that you are wanting to try out?

CXB3590 is/has been great for over a year now. Citizen makes good cobs as well, but there are few optical solutions available. Bridgelux who makes the Vero line is another story and there are 90 degree reflectors available for their flagship the Vero 29. The updated Vero 29 will be hitting distribution channels any day now. I've been taking a close look at them and am impressed. Cree should also be releasing new product soon but I have heard mention of internal issues and delayed release. It's possible I will end up switching to the new Vero and then taking a look at switching back to Cree once they have something new to offer.

As far as Kelvin, I've used what has been the standard 3500K 80CRI and have been offering 3000K 90CRI recently. I think any warm white will do the job and the performance of all of them should be pretty close.

Great answer thanks Kevin!
I look forward to your thoughts on these new COBs!

@Tasty , love the lights...was top of my list to buy before I went DIY route. When I was looking, you offered you lights with the option for either the reflectors or the lenses over the COB's. Do you still do both, and what is the basic difference between the two as far as the light footprint?
