Indoor Autos in Organic Soil with Tap Water

Day 34/30/23 - LC/DZ/PG; DZ schwazz, and PG topping
The staggered ages made updating more frequently necessary, but we topped the last uncut one in the tent today…day 33/29/22 - LC/DZ/PG at the end of lights-off:

Hi Mozzy. What's the purpose of that extreme defoil? Encourage flower growth? I have a plant I would like to try this on because of the crazy amount of leaves. The thing is, it would prolly be a bucket full. This particular plant is falling behind in the flowering department compared to her sister and I think it may be due to the excessive leaf growth???Thanks.

I have environmental/RH issues and corresponding mold/rot concerns for flowering...I also grow pretty healthy autos that take almost anything I need to do in stride, and can grow amounts that dwarf my needs.

This helps with airflow/light penetration, and I wind up with consistent sized flowers throughout the plants and almost no larf as a result as well which is efficient for trimming, drying and curring too.

excessive leaf growth
I don't believe this is a thing, in a vacuum. Excessive for what?

Mine were too much for me relative to environment, space, goals, etc. and I know from experience that I will likely have issues very soon otherwise as my grow progresses.

I would also encourage folks that haven't, to experiment with their plants because empirical evidence will usually be your strongest, and it's how to learn and progress and grow, and gain confidence to do more in future grows

Thanks for the detailed response.

Day 37/33/26 - LC/DZ/PG; ~54 DLI
~70sF/RH 60s%; 20/4; adjusted the light and increased the dimmer so the middle one should be getting roughly ~750 PPFD/54 DLI (tent average should be ~650 PPFD/47 DLI) based on charts, at day 37/33/26 - LC/DZ/PG :pop::

Day 37 LC, will need another pruning in a few days:

Day 33 DZ, recovering well from schwazzing a few days ago:

Day 26 PG, trucking along after being topped a few days ago:

Day 39/35/28 - LC/DZ/PG; LC is an UNWANTED MALE
Unfortunately I believe I have discovered (on the slow side) that the 39 day LC is male (stupid reg autos ), and so it’ll have to go:

…and now we are down to two in the tent, the 35 day DZ:

…and the 28 day PG:

On the plus side those 2 ladies are looking good! :d5:
Thanks, it'll help with RH/airflow too but I would have pruned/trained them different had I known :rolleyes1:.

I'll give another LC a try next cycle...the first time I grew it I started more than one seed but wound up with two, and they were too much :oops1:.

True with the environment! I didn't know seed banks sold reg autos that's news to me 🤣 where do you get your seeds from if you don't mind me asking? Id like to see that LC grown I've never heard of it before.

You can always ask me anything, I'm always happy to help or talk about things I know/have experience with :pass:

I bought them at legal dispensary a while back...I've never gotten seeds online and it has actually been a long time since I've bought any seeds; it feels wasteful after I accidentally grew multiple strains of auto-fem seeds quite a few grows ago since I have more than I'd likely grow in a lifetime. That's not to say there aren't countless auto strains out there I would love to grow...maybe someday :baked:

Id like to see that LC grown I've never heard of it before.
When I got the Equilibrium Genetics Lion’s Claw F3 Early Flowering regular, non-feminized (Lion’s Gate OG ♀ x (Mexican Sativa x Siberian Ruderalis) ♂ — Ruderalis) Hybrid, it was pretty cheap...~$40+ tax for 12? Although in hindsight, it was the most expensive I ever bought considering that is ~$4.30 a seed, or almost $9 per seed if ~50% are fem :oops1:

I grew a couple previously but I did not do a good job with them in hindsight...bad water PH in the beginning, underwatered because they drank so fast and were in regular 3.5g pots which also starved them due to size, etc. I think these genetics will grow monsters (I know I could fill my 2x4 with just one plant in the aerated SIPs I'm using now) :growing:...here's the old ones at Day 78/61 (they both got chopped ~100/101 days):
