New Grower Bud shrink!!

High All long time no speak...

Well first of I hope this querie is in the right catogorie as Ive forgotten how to navigate this site

but here goes... I grew out 3 la Diva's (freebies) via Herbies Seedbank and they had the usuall
problem im getting with Cal/Mag but I managed to ride it out til CHOP day and it was looking ok

until I left them in the dark for about 36 hours and it was also quite cold in there too so im wondering
as normal flowers turn to face the sun and close their pettles at night...did my BUDS do this too? :dunno:

I swear they were at least 30% bigger!!

any opinions...

Pictures would help of course.
But I would say no the buds don't shrink by 1/3 in a 36 hour period without some serious effort, especially if they are still potted.
Often times a heavily pistiled bud will look a smaller after the pistils start to dry and retract.
But if you still have a profusion of fresh pistils, you are most likely harvest too early, although I can't imagine doing so with La Diva as they finish so fast on their own.
How many days old are they?

some strains do that , i recently harvested a nevils skunk , it looked to be a huge yielding plant , 3 days later i went to de stem it and was shocked by how much it shrunk

If you mean by leaving them in the dark and they look like they shrunk when you saw them again, then yes I think I know what you mean. I have noticed the buds never feel as dense, but this would be down to leaving them with no light.

god knows how old they where i let them run probably 11 weeks (estimate)

better go back to keeping a notebook or even starting a thread i could do with the help

Chopped and Jarred this morning @ 88 grams so if it goes to 70g (cured) 2 an half ZIPS :dance2:

If that is 88g fresh chopped green. You are probably looking at abit closer to 30g when dry and cured.

Did you not dry it before putting it in jars? Did you put any humidipaks in? You don't want to jar it up wet dude. I've been growing for about a year and half now and still learning by leaps and bounds. The primary problem I have is taking it too early. I just get bored of waiting as I have only one room so I have to wait until it's over to start some new stuff for excitement. :-0 So I tell myself, yeah it's ready and then I harvest and like yours, it isn't nearly as much as I thought it was. It is the last few weeks where that weight comes on and I sure have a hard time waiting for the weight. Thank God it's only a hobby.
