I have read a lot of information here and am attempting my first grow I have 4 plants, jock horror, 10 days old right now, I am pretty confused about lighting, esp. Different spectrums, I have scrounged around an d I have available, 4ft fluorescent fixture with 2-60 watt daylight deluxe, I also have 2 4ft. 40 watt agrolight, I have 5 27 watt cfl's, and also 2 ott lights one with an 18 watt and one with a7 watt. Is there a combination I can get through with these? Thanks for help and suggestions.

simply put you can mix them..... to achieve your watts..... what you want is at least 50 watts per square foot....spectrum is every thing between 2700k and 6500k is where it's at.

with tube flouros you want t5s as theyre the most efficient and t8s after that i think and ho(high output) or vho(very high output). best to use grow specific lights but.

mixing lighting is fine, the 6000k'ish bulbs will be best for vegetative growth and the 3000k'ish ones will be better for getting dense bud growth but either will work alone or in combination if its bright enough. you want as much light as you can get basically without having heat issues or at the extreme light bleaching.

Lower kelvin ratings are more red biased. Higher K's are blue...er.

Blue for veg/early growth. Red for bloom/flowering... bud production. Both will do the job on their own, but if you really wanna know... now ya do.

The key words here are photosynthetically active radiation as measured in micromoles of photons per square meter per second... at each critical wavelength.

science :bone:
