I did actually have a question for those who do heavier defoliation on their plants. When do you start? I've already stopped myself from removing the first nodes on the FD and MM cause I don't want to cause issues but I also don't want them to waste energy on something I'm going to remove unless they need it earlier on. Any thoughts?

I defoliate if necessary to expose bud sites or for air circulation reasons. Otherwise, I leave them alone. IMHO, ymmv, etc.

Yeah i do the same, i like cutting off that lowers and sucker buds myself but the 1 time i did nothing.. i got a giant! so I'm on the fence about what is best but i 100% will train my plants and defoliate them if i am not in a dark hole hating life. also, it could be a genetics thing where some genetics might explode with growth if lowers get cut off but a bitchy strain might stunt itself? dunno lol

Yeah I guess until you do it with a strain you'll never know unfortunately lol.

You ever remove nodes or lower bud sites? I know some people remove the lower nodes and top it.

I usually top but don't remove nodes or sites.

51/31/17:

Plants are all doing well today. Seem to just be on cruise control right now... thankfully they are stacking up at this point.The Marathon OG is getting really chunky. Starting to see some weight on the Strawberry Gorilla and AvT. The CA and CDLC are moving along, not seeing as much bulk as the others but I know they'll get there. Started to make some space for the MM and FD as they are getting bigger. The Ogreberry is short but doing well! It seems to be enjoying the small tent. The plants will all get a top dress tomorrow. Going to mix it in with a bit of soil. I'm also going to be adding DE and Dolomite lime. Haven't decided if I should just add in a dose that will be good for 3 weeks or just split it up by 1/3 and add it in with the weekly top dress, what do you all think about that? Day 52/32/18:

The original 5 and the GP recieved their top dress today. I added the 4-8-4 in with some OF Soil, earthworm castings, and 1 oz of Dolomite lime and then watered it all in with some recharge. The plants dont seem to be showing any new deficiencies or issue since adjusting the CalMag ppms. They are all really starting to beef up now, I'll add some close ups The GP is reaching for the sky and seems to be determined to catch up to the others. FD and MM will be getting their first top dress here in about a week. Not much else to report! Everyone seems happy. Thanks for stopping by!

Did a bit of moving around in the tent today. Swapped MM and FD and raised MM up some. The Fog Dog is spreading way out, very cool structure. Everyone else seems to really be liking the top dress. Opened up the zipper to some happy plants! Not much else to report on today. Just riding out the last few weeks of these ones till they're finished! Thanks for stopping by!
