Completed my first grow. Then I had to deal with some drama now I'm back to hopefully do better on my 2nd low budget grow. My basic plan is germ in paper towel then rockwool cubes in 3 inch net pots of gravel and 2 gallon buckets. Nutes will be Tang's schedule of AN pH perfect adjusted with cheap eBay ppm meter no pH meter. Lighting will be screw in led bulbs at 25 watts per square foot. Seeds will be Mephisto sour livers and CDLC so I will use a $80 eBay filter. Some smell inside is ok as long as none outside. 2 plants with 4 sq foot per plant. Humidity is high here and I will only have ac and heat to reduce it. Max yield is not important, I'm only growing my own meds.i know I'm cheaping out on a lot of things but it's that or wait till I have more money. If anyone sees problems with this advice is appreciated.

Yeah try 5" or even 7"
Smaller the tote the more monitoring and nute adjustments between changes. Especially if they are basic and not joined to a central rez.
You can get mesh or even carbon filled screens to suit your ducting size, try them. Although the carbon screens can dramatically reduce air flow.

Wow quick replies. Cab is about 6 ft by 2 and 5 high. I was going to leave room to start plants for a perpetual havest but if 2 plants fill it up that's ok too. Some bondage to get a even canopy and allow airflow. I'm at home with a bad leg so I have time to check water levels I just want to go big enough not to limit plant size and not be too tall for when I get better lights. I never want to have gnats again so I want to try a filter that doesn't restrict airflow too much but I have no idea what to use. I hope to have a relatively problem free grow unlike the last one.
You are doing the right thing getting in the groove! 
5" & 3 gal should be fine for your purposes!
Look at a cheap weather monitor for your cab also, and a basic thermometer (although the EC pen should have that)
No need to go cray cray but the girrls will tell you what they need!

Thx @fettled6 you have been very helpful. I was planning on getting a $10 weather station and using a aquarium themometer that I have. I still have to figure out a intake filter. I think I made every beginners mistake known to man and invented some new ones on my first grow. If I had any sense at all I would have gave up but I just couldn't. despite the problems I had lots of fun and even got some decent bud out of the deal. Now I'm hooked and I have to grow something better than last time. Somebody should have warned me growing indoors was so addictive. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

I would only suggest adding rhino skin which is a silicon...
I would personally suggest hydroguard instead of voodoo juice....
And I would carry in using Sensi zym all the way through as it will treat any dieing roots and convert it too food,
