Northern Light-Short Rider Cure Jars

They've been cut, trimmed and jarred. Ready for a nice slow cure. This Micro Grow harvest I got a total of 125 grams (4.46 ounces); four plants total. That's an average of 31.25 grams or 1.11 ounces per plant.

You just cannot beat hanging the plants when drying. I've done the paper bag dry, but hanging the plants is still the best way for drying.

The buds have a wonderful sweet fruity smell. Very sticky.

Great harvest BayLee ... love those jars ...
I may need to upgrade .

Jarred at 60%-65%

Jarred 002.jpg

Last night the cured buds were at 75%. Too moist for starting a proper cure. I opened the jars and let them breath over night. The jars were in a closed paper bag, but still I still had the buds in the jars. It's been very cold here in SNE. The air is very dry @ 25%RH. Even with my room humidifier on full blast I got the room to 55%RH. This morning the buds were at 60%-65% RH. Just the right RH. I'll open them up (burp) each day for at least a week or more. As they cure I'll be able to open them less. These buds will cure for at least a month.

They smell wonderful and they're just perfect.

Nothing smells better than a proper cure.

Awesome looking nugs man, great job. And thanks for the info it was very informational and now im going to get a hygrometer tomoro. I dont want the hay smell again, now I know why my first harvest just wasnt as danky as it was when it was growing. Thanks guys.

The drying of the bud is just as important as growing. Pot plants want to grow. They are helped by us; that's all. When we give them the proper care we get nice buds. Now it's our job to finish job correctly.

A small humidifier is a good investment. Keeping the air moist is super important in drying slowly. The drying area's RH needs to be @
60%-70%. That way there is enough relative moisture that will not dry out the buds quickly. Even if you decide to paper bag dry them a RH still needs to be 60%-70%.

Any room that has a RH below 55% is too dry for drying.

The 7-7-7 rule is a good idea. 7(days)-70F(temp)-70%(RH). When you jar the buds; put hydrometer in and wait to see what the RH is. Anything above 75% is too moist. Open the jars for a few hours and check again. When the RH is below 70% it's ideal to cure.

Doing this will keep your buds sweet, stinky, fruity and sticky.

Always keep the curing jars in a cool dark place. I put mine in a large paper bag placed in a corner of a cool room.
