    2nd Mephisto 2022
  • A other week passed and time for an update on the Mephisto's...

Firstly, I might have been a bit enthusiastic starting this grow when I did, with extraction on the tent is too cold and with it off the dehumidifier can't keep up and humidity is getting high, really high at 70%+ sometimes.
Secondly, I think I might have the beginnings of Mg deficiency in the SODK (back left), last picture will be a close up if anyone thinks it might be something else.

    2nd Mephisto 2022
  • So here we are on day 40 and long overdue an update. It's fair to say I'm having trouble with temps and humidity due to my space being unheated and uninsulated and me taking the gamble on a late grow. Even with the polystyrene cladding on the outside of the tent and lights on 24/7 I can only maintain around 22°c, and that's with no extraction running. With an open vent at the bottom and one open at the top I'm hoping to allow convection to keep the air moving but humidity is currently sitting around 70%. All this said I dont think they're looking too bad at the moment and I'll be happy to let temperatures drop a bit later in flower, who knows it might keep them nice and tight..

  • Checked the seedlings earlier and about half had a visible root at the bottom of their 9cm pots. I was hoping to hold out till Tuesday before potting on but made the decision to get them moved on tonight rather than hinder the roots. I used Plagron light mix but added 10 litres of perlite to the 50 litre bag to improve drainage and aeration, I'll let them settle in overnight before giving them a plain water tomorrow.
Not sure I'll manage to grow the others in amongst so now left with 10 seedlings and no room sadly...

Day 2, looking a bit Sci fi with the air pots.

  • Just a quick updaye as not a great deal to see this early on. Although I did notice tonight that most have loveley white roots poking out the bottom of the air pots. Not sure I'll have any room to allow the little pots to grow once the canopy fills out but I'll keep them going for now, might have to do some DIY and convert something...

    Day 10
    20230130_161044.jpg

Its around day 95 and I'm still waiting on Mephistos Wedding and SODK to finish, they are fading but with no amber showing and still quite a few clear trichs they're taking their time...

  • Day 14 and everything seems to be moving along nicely with lots of roots out the bottom of the pots now. A little bit of leaf damage on one of the Lecters from overwatering the seedling but no lasting damage done. I haven't decided if I'm going to top or bend this time around but it needs to be decided in the next couple of days. Maybe 50/50 as a comparison...

  • Here we are on day 20 already!
The back row were topped on day16 and 17, basically as soon as there was enough to remove without damaging anything, and the front row have been bent over except the 2 on the left. I've also gone a bit mad pinning any lateral growth down that's long enough (first time giving it a go really) I went with old tent pegs for this because they can be repositioned easily and they were to hand. I'm hoping to create a sort of open goblet shape around the pot to let light and air into the middle - who knows...?
I'm away for the weekend and can't leave it to Mrs Egg so gave tham all a good water with light nutes, 1ml/L Sensi Bloom A+B and hoping to see a big difference when I get back
    Have a great weekend

  • Day 23
Back from my cheeky wee weekend away, and after saying hello to Mrs and kids (she's happy to let me crack on with the growing but you've got to prioritise...) it was up to check on things in the tent. I was pleased to see its filling out in there and I'll probably have to do some work on the foliage next weekend. Unfortunately I also noticed I've managed to snap a lateral away from the main stem when I was pinning down, I'm sure the others will push on so not the end of the world.

I also noticed this discolouration on one of the Deadites that seems to have started in the upper leaves...?

  • It's day 26 and it was getting quite full in there so here's a wee before and after fan leaf removal. I only took 4 - 6 off each plant. You'll probably notice a few laterals have been previously broken due to my heavy handedness when pinning them down...

They're all keen but Lecter (right), Slaughtered Lamb (second right) and Bronson (far left) definitely stand out, I would say trunks rather than stems...
