Mephisto Genetics First Grow Ever: Northern Lights Haze with Quantum Board and Bubble Bucket

I can't figure out how to take pictures with my computer, but I see one root sticking out the right middle side of the root riot cube and one sticking out the left. Slowly but surely. The little cap of the seed is still on but it pushed itself upwards that way, I think it will shed its shell tonight.

I'll try to get a picture tomorrow.

How much heat does four hundred eighty watts of LED lighting put out? This isn't doing anything heatwise in my basement. The ambient temperature is pretty low and the giant metal blades at the top are sucking all the heat into them. It might be too cold for this to sprout up strongly. I turned the heat up in my house and closed all the vents on the tent to try to warm it up. I don't want to put this upstairs in the spare bedroom but I might have too.
It depends on the light

I had a Viparspectra par600 that was cooking my basement and i had to get rid of it because we consistently had 90+ degree temperatures in my city for almost a month straight

The autocobs im using now doesn’t seem to put out any heat at all and I like it that way

I'm thinking the quantum boards must be more like the cobs. its also a big tent in the midwest, probably hard for about four hundred watts of lighting to heat up a 5x5x7 tent in a Midwest U.S. basement at the end of September. I figure its about 70ish? I forgot to get one of those heat and humidity displays, got to swing by the hardware store tomorrow and get one of those.

The seed is up and still has a bit of the shell on it. Will it naturally lose that or should I try to take it off?

Both of mine came of by itself after a day or two

Thanks for that, it looks like its growing and I see two large roots out the side of the rooting cube. Its just a slow grow from a noobie who goofed up the germination process. Northern Lights parentage is supposed to tough and the Rookie's Friend so I got confidence in it.

I have a Northern Cheese Haze thats on day 43 and mines was a slow grower the first 2 weeks but from day 20ish til now it has exploded

I recommend tying it down early cause i will get huge

I just had to break the neck on mine last night because it grew past the light and was an inch or 2 away from touching the top of the tent

Oh wow, it grew that hard post veg upwards? That must be the Haze in it. This grow tent comes with a SCROG netting so it sounds like I should top it and SCROG it out. I'm happy I got that info. I didn't know if I should top or fim my first plant or just let it be, now it looks like my hand is a bit forced, but its nice to know what to expect.

The plant has shed the top of it, it had what I looked up is called "helmet head." But other than that, the plant is looking good. Just a little baby now, no nutrients or anything yet, just distilled water to keep the Root Riot moist.

The plant is looking alright, but it looks pretty "lanky." I think the reason why the tent wasn't warm and why the seed wasn't growing too much is that I raised the light to the top thinking I had it at maximum power. What I actually had was the Timber grow light at MAXIMUM DIMMING. Whoops. So there was only about 120 watts of quantum board lighting from the seed about thirty inches away and it got stretched out. Its not an atrocious amount or anything, but its stretched a bit. I lowered the light a bit and put it to maximum for the light and the heat.
