Hello everyone,

I'm Big Bro. My little brother, Bgrow82, has convinced me to give this a try. I'm a long time smoker but first time grower. I'm a complete newbie and know very little. What I do know is all things that my brother has taught me. Most of which he has learned here. So anything that anyone can help me with would be very appreciated.

I'm getting ready to start a closet grow, and I'm using:
4ft/ 8bulb/ 40k lumens T5's
Atami Hydro Mix soil
5# pots

I have a good idea of how to germinate my seeds, but any information is valuable to me at this point. Anyone want to start from the beginning and point me in the right direction?

T5s work great in my opinion. I just bought another one, a 4' 8 bulb like you are going to use.

Welcome to AFN, BigBro! :tiphat: I've had some good chats with your brother as he's been working through his grows. You are going to grow some nice plants with that T5 fixture once you have everything dialed in. I have yielded over 3oz from a plant under a 6 bulb 4' unit. Best piece of advice I can give you is to keep that light right on top of the plants (within a couple of inches) to push them towards growing shorter and wider. Taller plants tend to have less lower bud development since the T5 doesn't penetrate very far.

Get yourself a grow journal started and you'll have more help than you can shake a stick at. :smoke:

Good evening mate! You`ve been given good starting points. I guess my best advice is to use common sense, read up(stickies are invaluable!) and ask your bro for his opinion on things.
This community will offer you access(and quality help/advice) to some of the most knowledgble growers/breeders out there, but there`s nothing like a helpful pal that ya know, for a 2nd opinion! Anyhoo, Welcome t`AFN(I got there in the end :smoke ! :Sharing One:
