I am using a 48watt t5 at the moment, just wondering if adding a 15watt uv black light would help the yield or health of the plant? 2 weeks into the grow :)

No,a black light will not work.At 48 watts is that t5 a 48 inch single four foot bulb.?

That's really not a lot of light.try and get more lights if you can,cfl or more t5's

I would if I could afford it buddy, until this is finished I'm stuck, but I will have some cfl's and a bigger t5 by my next lot, this is just a practise run then I can really try on my Wipeout express Auto ;) they're growing really well considering the package of light

have you got any pictures so far? there is going to be tonnes of stretching due to lack of light and i wouldnt be expecting a good yield, get some household cfl`s couple of dollars at wall mart, maybe 5x30w mixed spectrum, probably come to $40 with fittings, well worth it buddy otherwise its going to be a waste of your time, ill follow the grow and keep my eye on it with you mate :Sharing One:

There's the AFN vibe right there!! :) :wiggle:

Good work Barnsie that's very kind of you!

I agree with getting more little CFL lights and spreading them around. I've not seen the small cfls with mixed spectrum though and if i had to make a choice, for an auto I'd probably go all out on 2700k flowering bulbs.

(For the reasons of short vegging time, I suspect a 2700k bulb puts out more actual lumens than a similar watt 6500k, and i've used 2700k from start to finish with success.)

All in All junior - we need more Power!! :) :pighug:

Wow I didn't think it was that bad :/ I'll definitely be getting more lights, will just have to get an extension lead with more plugs, cheers for the help guys much love, there are pictures on my "My First Grow! Feedback?" Thread

Just to show you how lucky I am, I stepped on my 300watt cfl as it was under some clothes........ But just found an 80watt 3k cfl

Dude that sucks, I have been growing 2x northern light auto's under CFL's 1x200 1x125 both are dual spec. I'm having good results especially as this is my first time round. I also have a side project of some regular mystery widow which has been started under 2x 45 CFL's 1 of each spectrum. I got all my lights from ebay for a total of around £60 and that includes the other 2x45 bulbs and fittings that are yet to be installed so trust me you can get some good gear on a budget.
Anyway good luck fella
I'll poke my head in when i can and help as much as i can, well as much as a newbie can.
