Dry ice sift is another thing I have yet to try, but it seems easy enough to get hold of in the UK, I heard that you can get it at the supermarket in some places in the states.

Do you use a mess bag or can it be done just with a normal bubble bag?

One thing that I like about the dry ice thing is that you can also use it with stevia a naturally occuring sweetner 300 times sweeter than sugar, which occurs on the leaves of the plant.

I'm diabetic and was thinking of growing some and then using the dry ice method collect the crystals of sweetner which are on the leaves.

I've seen some videos on youtube doing it and it would be great to make some organic home grown natural sweetner.

Nice advice on the screen too , thanks bro :)

Dry ice extraction is great.
Until supercritical extraction units come down in price, this will be my preferred method of making concentrates.
I am interested in salt water extraction as well. It's very new, so I'm still learning about it.
Dry ice is available at every grocery store as well as grow shops here in Colorado.
I use regular bubble bags.
Although @briman turned me onto bubblebowls.:d5:
I haven't used them yet but will be upgrading to them eventually.
Currently I use bubble bags and a re-purposed fish tank to recover the sift.

Check out Frenchy Cannoli and his hash making technique.
It involves using ice water hash.
Very interesting:thumbsup:

Makes sense to extract the crystals on stevia.
I'd still use the left over veg material as it should have some flavor/medical qualities too.
Kinda how I handle my trim after dry icing it.
I use the trim to make oils/butters after the dry ice process.
Nothing goes to waste.:pass:

Using the fish tanks is and inspired choice and another thing to put on my list.

Salt water extraction that's new to me, there was something about washing with salt water in n-hexane extraction to polish the extract. Let me know more about it or a link, that would be great.

Oooh Frenchy Cannoli, just followed your link and wow, looks like I gonna take a week of work and have me some viewing time, absolutely marvelous!

No waste that's my kinda thinking too!

:slap: @A Gardner for taking it back old skool for me! I use to LOVE LOVE LOVE the gravity bong! I got the DIY d-nail today with the highly educated infinity nail with a carb cap and dabber.... The kit was put together perfect and I was able to put the entire thing together with only having to go back once and reverse a pair of wires I wired backwards causing the nail not to heat up....:crying: stoner for ya!
For the price and the piece of mind I got a quality unit and nail I just LOVE THIS THING TO DEATH! Made a cheesy YouTube video Hitting it with my old and very dirty Ehle 1000ml twist tube, the thing is a BEAST!

I'm guess this means your not from the US.

When I've mentioned buckets to US guys they don't know what I mean.

They call them gravity bongs.

I made one of these at Glastonbury festival, outside a cinema tent and was giving away buckets to people who had never seen one before, then we all went tin the cinema tent and watched Asterix the Gaul (can't rember which one).

We used to make glass buckets with big wine bottles and drop a dinner knife down the neck to knock out the bottom, the same bottles got used for hot knifes too.
.

Bwwaahaha - Buckets!! That's the way to end an evening after the pub.

I've had many many buckets - too many lol - The bigger the bottle ... the better the "whack". You can get family sized cordial bottles that are like 5 litres - a five litre "whack" haha. Of course the one or two litre coke bottles are fine for day to day use .... but to really push the boat out .....

Never tried a dab - think it's more of an American thing! Even after watching the vids i'm still a bit confused about it all. Seems maybe a little dangerous for a stoner (probably no more dangerous than hot knives or blowbacks though lol)

I'm with you on that one blue, call me old fashioned?

I was really gutted not to get to the expo in Peterborough today! (Personal reasons!) Many forms of this (newer way?) of enjoying the herb on display! Must have the raw material first though :)

:bighug:

? I'm not sure why I don't see or care about threads (like this!) until after the fact! Subbed!!

lmao were rolling out the old ways today.

I miss spliffs but that's the tobacco talking and bow backs were awesome especially from or to a pretty girl.

We used to get a card board tube about 18" / 45CM long and put a hole in the side near the end and insert a spliff, with your hand as a carb. Put your hand over the end of the tube draw as much as possible (not too hard or you might get a massive side burn on the spliff) and then take away your hand and inhale the tube worth of smoke all at once..
We called them shabangs and zoomtubes.

Don't want to go the way of the oil rig then there are plenty of dab pens which are more discrete and safe if you don't trust your self with glass bong and a blow torch (it does sound a little sketchy lol). The Dr Dabber Ghost Pen is supposed to be quite good.

Check this out it's called the dipstick and looks very interesting.

They call it serendipity :D

The forums a re so full of threads it hard to know which one to read next.

I have a back log of grow journals I feel I should read but it is hard to find the time after posting and being distracted by great threads like this.

Now that it is so easy to knock some rosin up in mere seconds the idea of getting an oil rig suddenly make a bit more sense.

In recent months I was getting in to portable vapes and although I have seven of them I'd still like a few other models lol.

I need to refocus and look at other goodies I'd like to have, one is a nice dab rig and I'd also like to get a Vape Exhale Cloud Evo table vape and it does concentrates and waxes.

I'd also add the hydratube percolator.
