damn 1 bed apt is like 3k here in los angeles.

rent is outrageous these days. We paid $250k for this townhouse but we had a decent down payment and we bought while the interest rates were at record lows, so we ended up at <3%
2500 a month will get you a studio apt right in the middle of downtown which if you dont know is an absolute shithole, but at least youll have a upfront view of the city 
My SIL has a studio in LA but the military foots the bill due to a lawsuit and her being 100% disabled. Idk what part of the city she's in though but she walks everywhere so it's obviously safe *enough*2500 a month will get you a studio apt right in the middle of downtown which if you dont know is an absolute shithole, but at least youll have a upfront view of the city
you can walk and be safe in the worst neighborhoods in la no problem. im white as shit and lived in south central right by the crenshaw mall for 10 years never once had an issue. but trust me i have seen some wild shit. and there are plenty of hoity toity cities in la too. la is huge. if shes in downtown la ask her about crazy stories, cause if she really walks everywhere in downtown she will have endless stories
i used to work in downtown near skid row and its another planet of its own.

i just checked prices in downtown right now, and everything under 2k is within a mile of skid row, and on really shitty streets that have alot of hotels and hostels and bars, so if you love chaos and the smell of bum piss on literally every block come on dowwwwwn. 
You'd have $500 by now if you quit buying shoes lmaoIf i had $500 i would borrow $50 and order my press!
